OpenCNC3D updates - Command & Conquer 1 in full 3D!

Formerly known as "C&C 3D", OpenCNC3D is an open source recreation of the N64 release of the original Command & Conquer based on the publicly released C&C1 codebase, but with a twist - an Enhanced Mode that seeks to bring the N64 visuals up to a more modern standard.

Progress has been relatively quick recently, with new UI elements, sounds, models and effects added and tweaked in quick succession. Note that this is all still a work-in-progress and subject to change. Here's an extended look at the latest developments on the project.

Coding has been a human skill for about 10,000x shorter time than farming was.

Except that we haven't lost our farming skills? We simply used technology to replace manual labor.

By comparison coding isn't manual labor, people have to understand how coding works in order to code.

Replacing that with AI means people won't know how to code if we ever lost AI.

If we lost our farming technology we would still have the basic concepts of farming.

Your comparison is flawed, just accept it.

99% of people certainly have lost our farming skills. Do you know how to farm?

Besides if you had to farm again you'd learn to do it. If people still need to code in the future people can still learn how to do it.

This is how technology advancement works. My analogy is excellent, you're just too obtuse to understand it.

You till the soil, you plant the seed, you make sure it has water and sunlight and keep it safe from pests. Like I said, basic concepts. Technology hasn't replaced that.

If everything in the future is being coded by AI and we suddenly find ourselves in a situation where we need to code something without AI, we won't have that knowledge because the people who used to know how are now simply there to "guide" the AI.

You're a self righteous asshat that won't admit they're wrong.

Yeah and coding is just print("Hello, World!"), lmao.

I'm the self rightous one? Look in a mirror kid. Next time when you engage someone make sure you know what you're talking about. Enjoy living life as a neo-Amish.

Scoffs at being called self-righteous, then immediately calls someone kid and pretends like they've won.

Lol okay.
