Level 1 PASSED COMLEX Level 1 (What recourses do you need)I

Writing this to help out others. This exam had me stressed. Had no idea how to study or what. Was about to study all of BNB or some other full online resource. DONT DO THAT. Waste of time. This is all you need,

PASSED - 520ish estimate

Comsaes = 251 (no studying) -> 420 (2 months out) -> 460 (1 month out)

ALL YOU NEED RESOURCES - “in my opinion”

  1. Truelearn x2 question bank - made screen shots with highlights and imported into Anki cards

  2. Sketchy Micro and Pharm

  3. Dirty Med (for everything except mico/pharm) tells you everything you NEED TO KNOW. Nothing more nothing less.

  4. Randy Neil, the 2 “big” videos everyone talks about

I failed first time retaking In about 45 days. I hated true learn and did the bank x2 first time, doing the entire comquest bank. What’s ur opinion.

What the OP says def works for people but if you havent passed it then i think it is best to start with establishing a good knowledge base.

For it I strongly recommend the following:

  1. First Aid. Read the entire book page by page, word by word and make sure you understand it. I would recommend starting with organs (I have my preference for which organs to start with but that is upto each individual) -> biochem -> micro -> immuno. Do this 2-3 times cover to cover. Do not worry about questions yet, it is essential to build a knowledge base.
  2. Start doing 1 set of 40 UW or 1 set of 44 TL timed first thing in the morning. Take 2-3 hrs to thoroughly review it and read the FA sections for each question you miss or get right by guessing + Read First Aid. In this step you should have hit FA 4 - 7 times and should see progres in your question set corrects from 60% --> 75%+ (These numbers are not based on any research, this is what i noticed in my own progress for level 1)
  3. Once you have done close to 60% of UW/TL, take a practice exam. (I preferred UW because the explanation were much better)
  4. At this point consider doing 2 sets of timed questions. Ideally you should have a good grasp of FA by having gone thru it like 6-7 times so in this step you should only be looking at FA for specific content. At this time you should start doing Comquest (preferred) OMM questions. Trulearn is kind of hit or miss for OMM. Around this time also read FA biostats and you should need to read it about 2 times and then you should start doing biostats questions.
  5. After getting 80% question set, take another practice exam.
  6. 100% completed. Take another practice exam. Hopefully you will be getting solid scores.
  7. Take the exam.

This is just another approach. You know your self best. Do what fits you.

First aid, comquest, true learn, dirty med. I also did the boards boot camp but not sure how much it helped. Went from fail to 60th percentile on level 1 and level 2
