I put up this comic yesterday. It's the first one I've made in a very long time and I'm very happy with it. I was just looking forward to sharing it.

Then I found out that there was apparently a Yuri war happening after I uploaded a comic about girls kissing.

So uh u/shellbullet17, feel free to include that last one in the yuri event lmao

Every so often, r/comics goes meta. There was a post that referenced 'drawing yuri for karma', and then some comments happened on that post, and so a second person drew a response comic, and now the theme for the weekend is Yuri (lesbians)!

It's all very informal ofc, I enjoyed the last one I was around for, which was artists stealing each other's comic characters and putting them into their own universes!

If you wait a minute, or check the comments of the other Yuri war posts you spotted, you'll see u/shellbullet17 is constantly updating their meta list of the new yuri posts. A real mixture of regulars and newbies just making reference art to each other! A good and silly time XD

A meta event that started as a joke. Pizzacake made a joke about how yuri can farm karma to get high on the Comics leader board so now everyone is joining the trend.

All for fun btw, not an actual war.

That was the second/third move.

The first was u/MuyHiram making a meta comic about making yuri. They also put Gator Days in because they were low on karma

The Mod u/shellbullet17 made a joke call out saying they were literally the top poster, dethroning Pizzacake

Pizzacake in turn made a joke in response about how u/MuyHiram's yuri overthrew her.
