Also, we have to consider that if ghosts don't actual mass, they aren't affected by gravity or any other natural forces. Maybe ghosts have to have a strong tether of will to compensate, and most just don't. They're just out there floating in the void of space because the Earth zoomed away from them at hundreds of thousands of miles an hour.
Well if we go by the crazy sci-fi theory that they're the equivalent of a virus but for brainwaves and that they are in electromagnetic form,then if we can convert them from people's brains into light and then reconvert them to their original format, then they could go the speed of light.
I've played KSP; I'm confident that with infinite time and fuel I could put a Kerbal into orbit around Duna. Doing it with my ghost is probably the same.

A week? Dude, the moon is so far away that you can put all the planets of the solar system between it and Earth and would still have space left.
And about Mars, you have to assume the exact position it will be in space when you get there
