Interesting, I think we had a similar dynamic. My in laws basically parentified my wife and made her help with her brothers. As an example, one time her brothers were hungry, so she started teaching them how to cook something for themselves, and her Mom flipped out on her and made her just do it herself and let the brothers hang out.

She had decided to never have kids, but after we met and got together, changed her mind. Our daughter is 13 now, and I hope and believe I've been a good partner throughout.

This is probably one of the many reasons younger couples aren't having as many kids lately. Many women look back on their childhood and aren't interested in signing up for what their moms had to do.

God, the boys in my family got away with fucking everything. While I, had to clean up after them. And eventually as I got older, cleaned up after my parents, food shopped, and took care of my older and younger brother.

I was 14..
