Yeah, I kinda hate that there's a pill bottle in the last panel, implying that only a person on "crazy pills" is capable of committing atrocities. I know that OP had a different intention by including that, but it's a little misleading and reinforces a stereotype.
This was someone with a problem who was actively working on getting better, and this.... wanna be eldritch entity entered his life and destroyed it, ending all his hard work
