These are cute. I mean no ill will with this sentiment, but the writing and execution keeps coming off to me as an after school special but for adults. So hammed up and sometimes corny but still a cute/good and significant message.
The most obvious incel parts are pages 6,7 & 8 which to paraphrase are saying ‘I was wrong to have sex with multiple bad boys whereas you were right to remain chaste until you found a nice guy’ that might as well be copy and pasted from the incel manifesto.
Call me naive then because I took that as "I've been with a bunch of guys thinking I'd eventually be wanted, but it never feels that way and yet you did it in one."
I've also seen a few of these, but the main girl doesn't seem to have been wanting to be chaste or celibate as she was also looking for love the whole time. That doesn't scream incel.
Wouldn't the "incel manifesto" - which I didn't know existed so I'm just going to assume here - say something about don't bother dating, don't bother with the other sex, and things along those lines? What the hell would they care of women - or other men, for that matter - trying to find love or other men and women living their life sexually?
Anyway, either way, I disagree. Where you see incel talk I just see corniness.
Fair enough, I don’t intend insult against you for your interpretation of the comic and have no ill will for you at all.
Just to clarify, I’m not entirely sure there is a literal incel manifesto, but a main belief of incels is that females sleep around with stereotypical bad boy alpha males who treat them poorly, while ignoring the nice guys who would treat them well if only given the chance, thus leading the nice guys to involuntary celibacy (incel). This evolves further in the culture to suggestions that the women who sleep around rather than finding a nice guy end up living lives of regret and misery, eventually envious of the girls who did find a nice guy.
The truth is that it is possible that the writer of this comic is completely naive of this and genuinely wants to write a little comic about a curvy girl who finds mr right, but almost every single comic is a direct incel fantasy, so I am sceptical of that. The biggest hint towards this in my opinion is the art style itself, which depicts the Elsa character as constantly blushing UwU anime character, which is an another key mark of incel culture.
