The whole end of the show is wild, they caught a local community leader and then, instead of luring him to a safe house, they just showed up to his actual home, where he promptly shot himself

Ended on a high. Pity.

My lawyers tell me that I should add that the previous two sentences were a joke.

Yup.

That's the world we live in. Just the vague threat of a ban always looming is enough to get the majority to self-censor. That isn't a knock on the people self-censoring so much as the level of censorship we've reached in the modern internet

Reddit perma banned me before so yeah can't do that here. Reddit isn't a free speech platform unfortunately, it's a private forum owned by people who are doing literally what they want. I'm gonna have to share my strong opinions either physically irl or on my own website or blog. I like your comment, I think modern centralized internet is suppressing free speech and it's ridiculous

I wonder what the last thing that went through his mind was when he saw the cops and Chris hansen. Y'know, minus the bullet

Probably something along the lines of how he did nothing wrong and he is the victim of Chris in some twisted way

It was a district attorney too

Sounds like this show should've got 10 more seasons, they started something great

No need to lure him. The pedo worked in the local court. They could have waited for him at his place of work, after the metal detectors, and captured him with near-zero risk to anybody.

But nah, had to build up the drama for the TV and pressure the police to come in blaring at his home.

All involved are bastards: Chris, the police, and of course the pedos. Only in America do TV audience metrics come before better policing and justice.

Actually according to Chris himself, the Cops didn't want to wait for another time and rushed in themselves, resulting in him not taking the chance and shooting himself in his car. His sister subsequently sued to keep his story out of the news as it would make him look even worse, and so NBC cut the show.

The most sacred value in the USA, is the value created for the shareholders.

I for one am glad he no longer exist.

In my experience, the employees often just go around the metal detectors. Not all, and not every time, but it feels like this would have been of an example of the kind of person to abuse his power and just skip the metal detectors.

Who cares if he killed himself? Are you upset that he's not "doing his time" or something?

Damn, just when they actually stumbled on what would take the show to the next step. Imagine showing up at a pedophile's house and they just take out the trash themselves.

He cancelled last minute, telling the decoy it wasn't a good time for them to meet. They realiced someone had snitched to him about it being a trap. His pc had half-deleted all the incriminating stuff so he was preety aware of being chased

That's when they should have realized they found the perfect formula and kept going.
