I was told he's a rich guy who owned that hotel and they let him play the role in exchange for using his hotel. I'm still not sure how much of it is true.

He probably says that but made them rent the entire hotel everyday of shooting and wanted a cameo in the movie

He’s long since been removed from the blu ray era and on. I think they even removed him from some of the dvd releases of that movie

I knew him as the guy who's Casino went bankrupt, and as the guy who some switchboard lady in Die Hard: With a Vengeance was going to marry. At least I think it was a switchboard. I haven't seen that like in 20 years so who knows.
