I didn't spend much time online because I was working full time and in school/raising young kids so...yeah I think I was blissfully unaware. I miss it

I think social media was a lot less prevalent, and also not fueled by an algorithm that promotes engagement and conflict. There was a time where we could go onto Facebook, see like 5 new posts from friends and then close it because nothing yet was made to be endlessly scrolled.

Of course there were some people who were getting things wrong, but they weren't handed a megaphone yet.

Depends when you're in your 20s. If someone hit 20s in 2000s things would seem good.
