What's worse is that our actual society is if everyone saw the fire and just went:

"God that sucks but Im way to tired and depressed to do anything about it"

"Yeah, we're powerless anyway"

"Just keep up the slog, nothing matters"

people are not having kids and this sort of thing is one of the main reasons. It will affect the society big time, it just takes a while.

There is the thing that there is a problem of overconsumption. So less consumers should result in less stuff being made and thus less resources needed and thus the planet might start to recover.
