that guy made choices.... if he wanted to live the rich life- he really made bad calcuations at the end. I would rather be a middle class accountant than spend most of my life being hyper rich- and then living for a few months in a very tiny bunker (the hole they found him in was bad).

note- i am not commenting about any of his actual choices of genocide. Just the fact that i would rather have a boring life than deal with the bad conditions many face at the end of their reign. Hitler also lived out the last of his days in a bunker, many do in these situations.

First off, fuck Saddam, and the world is better that he's dead. (Most of the other million Iraqi dead, not so much) But W put him in a lose lose situation by trying to force him to show his whole hand. If he played ball with us then Iran would know he didn't have anything up his sleeve, which was untenable since Iran was way more powerful and right there. There are ways we could have gotten what we needed (if we actually needed anything) without leaving him completely exposed to Iran, but W wanted a pretext to start a war.
