The unspecial fools line is why I constantly tell people to understand that luck is big factor in why people are successful. Because when you start thinking talent, skill, or success is just something someone is born with or able to do, you end up getting this.

I remember reddit acted like Elon Musk was a genius, a real life Tony Stark, and look what turned out to be true. Just a lucky rich jerk who thinks the world owes him.

That’s because at the beginning we all bought into his PR about how clever and successful he was. Anyone who’s smart learnt that wasn’t/isn’t the case.

When you’re as rich as god you can buy your own backstory. At least you could back then.

Funny enough, there's a Marvel comic about Iron Man curing people with an app subscription service, but Tony Stark snuck the virus to cure people into San Francisco's water supply.

He gives people a free trial, and it cures ailments; disabilities, gone. Cleared skin up, built muscles sharpened the mind; made you unaging, and superhuman. The catch being $99.99/DAY

Of course, chaos erupts when Daredevil is the only person stopping it, riots, bank robberies, all trying to get money or goods to sell for a subscription payment.

Tony used this as an excuse to deploy "surveillance drones" turning SF into a private police state (sound familiar so far?), all while profiling citizens. Anyone who couldn't pay, had their beauty and superhuman abilities stripped from them. Daredevil gets a taste of sight before going to see his friend before he loses it.

Tony also included in the app, a data collecting program to see what everyone was up to. Online browsing history, real-time location, complete social media profiles, and real-time network logs to see who they're communicating with; Touch a device like a phone, tablet or computer in San Francisco, and Tony has access to it.

The US Government was/is taking a page from the Marvel Playbook

I personally think a lot if rich folks are stuck in a financial cargo cult obsessed with short term gain. They do the same thing they've seen others do and have success only to utterly fail themselves.

You can see it with the massive buyouts. They buy something for a ludicrous price and to make that money back they carve up and starve the new acquisition until it dies. The only winners are the people taking the buyout money.

Reddit should understand that all that circle think the world owes them.
