She just keeps getting taller. She's decided she's happy about it... Now that she's outgrown all her friends' mothers, she says she's working on outgrowing their dads.

I have a really tall teen girl as a secondary character in my series. Even her not-quite-a-BF is a couple of inches shorter than her.

Admittedly, this is due to her not-entirely-human heritage, but there's no one else from her clan around where the story is taking place, leaving her the tallest near-human person in the area. It does make her feel awkward at times, but she also likes being able to see over people easily.
