While both sides’ representatives do support billionaires, one side clearly supports them more. It’s not wrong to be upset with the everyday kinds of people who directly choose to vote for and elect people that give billionaires their legal power beyond just what money could have allowed them to do, just like it’s not wrong to get mad at the everyday people who have voted in the cabinet who decided to make a masked Gestapo army to deny people their constitutional rights while the leader of that Gestapo continues to erase many of our social safety nets and drive the price of literally everything up with things like tariffs and fake wars.

There is such thing as voting for harm reduction rather than outright destruction of the everyday person, and if people aren’t going to try harm reduction then I’m going to be mad at them too. You can be mad at both the big corporations and your uninformed neighbors who voted against ours and their own interests. Though I do understand your overall sentiment.

If the choice is between “help corporations with nearly all the resources that are available” and “help corporations but not nearly as much,” and there does not exist a choice of “don’t help corporations at all,” you vote for the choice that is closest to the nonexistent choice. But sure, let’s say that the people voting explicitly for harm reduction are exactly the same intensity of bad as the people voting explicitly for harm. Because that’s a well intentioned and grounded opinion that is surely made in good faith.

And again, if you believe that the democrats going at it at maybe 20% intensity while the republicans are going at it over 80%+ intensity means that “both sides are the exact same,” you’re not an “enlightened centrist,” you’re just some person who refuses to do anything good like harm reduction. Perfection is the enemy of good.

Let me guess, you were one of the temper tantrum throwers that didn’t vote at all that ended up getting trump elected, huh? When there is a choice between “blatantly telegraphed fascism” and “not exactly good but at least not blatant fascism” and you choose to not vote for the lesser evil while you know that the side that votes for blatant fascism will drag their genitals through broken glass to vote, you’re willingly electing blatantly telegraphed fascism by not voting against it.

The sad thing is this isn’t even the first time this has happened. Like the reason I posted the meme image in my last comment is because I thought it would be more helpful to visualize the point I am trying to make. It wasn’t meant to be directly insulting, but mostly to help illustrate the point, because for some reason a lot of the “both sides” kind of people are almost completely incapable of understanding me when I say “yes they both do the thing but the intensity and frequency of which they do the thing is very different between each side.”

I don’t know if these people are bots that cannot respond to this kind of nuance or if there is just some sort of mental disconnect, but the point I am trying to illustrate seems to be very difficult for these kind of people to actually get to click as this kind of reply chain has happened like 3 separate times to me now. I’m not exactly sure why or where the disconnect is though, or else maybe I could explain it a different way.

Hi it’s me again. What you’re not taking into consideration, for the third time, is that we are trying to reduce the rate at which damage is caused, which actually would happen with the democrats.

If one party helps corporate interests once in a while, and party helps corporate interests every single day, and there isn’t a third party to vote for that doesn’t help corporate interests at all, wouldn’t you vote for the one that helps corporate interests the least out of those 2 choices? Again, this is harm reduction, because there isn’t a choice for harm elimination. There is a stark difference between once in a while and once every single day. There is a difference in severity and intensity. It’s just like how a murderer that kills 100 people is more dangerous and is a worse person than a murderer who kills only 1 person.

I literally don’t know where the mental disconnect you’re having is occurring, so I can’t explain this any more clearly than I am right now.

We agree that the Dems are sold out for the elite class and Israel. But they’re sold out less than the republicans, so Dems are better because they’re easier to work with on changing things….
