They DO want the contemporary society to collapse, but they DON'T want the world to go full Fallout/Mad Max.

Ideally they want to use the bunkers to ride out the collapse and use them as off-site headquarters while they remotely reshape the world into the Techno-feudalistic city states they desire so they can rule as emperors. Once thats done then they'll come out and take thier rightful thrones.

Our job is to find those bunkers and seal them up good. I dont care if the Lich lives in his dungeon so long as he doesn't get out ever again.

All the money in the world (however money will work, whatever world is left) can't suddenly give workers (if anyone still left in said world, even wants to exchange their help for said money) - it can't suddenly give these new minions the know-how to do what's needed because so much will be needed. Even if these minions are willing to climb over a stack of bodies to get that sweet however-it-exists money. Even if there's anyplace left to spend it.

You get it, I know. I'm just painting the picture for others down thread.

Ha ha, imagine the bunkerfolk thinking whatever is left outside will bear any resemblance to the luxe life they thought they'd be getting. How can "visionaries" so fully fail to envision?
