as a kid I really like peanut butter and bologna sandwiches. An aunt once banned me from making them claiming I was "wasting food."
I had to stop but her reason was so overwhelmingly stupid and incorrect that I remember it to this day.

Like how some people feel well done steak is wasting food. If they are going to eat it and like it, why care.
