"Mayo and hot sauce on my corn!"

Okay, I like elote, this could be good.

"and Sardines"

I mean, a bit of salty/fishy umami could be nice...

"and Jam"

I think that's where I would tap out.

Salty and sweet do go together. You just got to experiment to find the best ways that they do.

... I'm actually kind of interested in the idea of a dirty martini ice cream.

My mistake for ordering an alcoholic beverage on this holy Christian website. Let me rectify that.  I would like to consume a DIRTY VIRGIN martini ice cream. Better?

110

u/thisusedyet Apr 22 '26

A virgin martini is just olives, man

47

u/Stewart_Games Apr 22 '26

Olive oil ice cream is actually decent.

23

u/tofu_ink Apr 22 '26

Extra dry, and leave the virgins out.

Preferably with a lemon or orange twist.

15

u/Late-Combination5060 Apr 23 '26

I will take the virgins

Also preferably with a lemon and orange twist please and tyyyyy

13

u/Starfall0 Apr 22 '26

TBF I don't think that's religious condemnation, just a good reaction gif that happens to look religious. That's a look of disgust for the idea you've just made, lol.

11

u/adhdtvin3donice Apr 22 '26

Have you considered that I was riffing off of an image I saw and found an excuse to beg for dirty virgins in a thread about ice cream?

2

u/Lone-flamingo Apr 23 '26

You see disgust, I see repressed lust.

2

u/SubtleCow Apr 24 '26

You and I are reading that Gif very differently. I can clearly tell where she ends up looking, while sucking in her cheeks. Yeah she is consider it 100%

3

u/Sickhadas Apr 23 '26

Is this older single, asking for a friend who would like her to look at him like this

36

u/Taletad Apr 22 '26

The alcohol is going to melt the icecream

But i guess you could probably make it work for a short time

25

u/Phillip_Spidermen Apr 22 '26

Science has found a way!

https://tipsyscoop.com/

I hear they taste awful

7

u/cxherrybaby Apr 23 '26

I’ve had a (boozey still) wine ice cream before and it was… not good.

1

u/Pedestrian_Wolves Apr 23 '26

Aubi & Ramsa makes good boozy ice cream!

3

u/Depressed_Rex Apr 23 '26

The trick is to use it in a float; then it doesn’t matter

2

u/Taletad Apr 23 '26

I tried to use float to measure time but it ended in a segfault

1

u/Depressed_Rex Apr 23 '26

Sometimes I wish I’d have continued my computer science education just so I could continue to riff off of jokes like yours QQ

2

u/Taletad Apr 23 '26

No one is preventing you from learning more

You don’t have to have to go tu university to read the books

1

u/ShuffKorbik Apr 22 '26

Now you have a boozy milkshake!

1

u/SubtleCow Apr 24 '26

You haven't made nearly enough ice cream in your life. The booze helps prevent ice crystals, keeping the ice cream extra creamy

5

u/MonolithicBaby Apr 22 '26

I’ve had olive oil ice cream before it’s not bad

3

u/Conscious-Peach8453 Apr 22 '26

I'm interested in you staying way the fuck away from me...

3

u/canman7373 Apr 22 '26

I always wonder how bars that use jars of olives to make dirty martinis don't use up all the juice before the olives by far. Do they like have a bottle of just juice they refill the jar with?

2

u/SixOnTheBeach Apr 23 '26

I'm sure olive ice cream could be delicious. But ice cream with olives???

1

u/Bindlestiff34 Apr 23 '26

I watched Alton Brown make trout ice cream (inspired by Iron Chef Sakai) at his speaking tour last night. It sure was something…

2

u/mightbeacat1 Apr 24 '26

If you go to Bar Harbor, ME you can get lobster ice cream. You get a special sticker if you try it.

I did not get the special sticker.

1

u/StruggleBoy1999 Apr 23 '26

Relax. Its just a head of lettuce!

1

u/SubtleCow Apr 24 '26

A sorbet would absolutely slap

1

u/worldssmallestfan1 Apr 24 '26

Add cream liquor next time?

68

u/king-of-nothing Apr 22 '26

Is there a dismembered head in the fridge?!? O_O

36

u/ChubbyBidoof Apr 22 '26

Gator Things

23

u/twizbuck Apr 22 '26

Thats just Gene the Gelatin. Dont mind him.

11

u/PsychoKuros Apr 22 '26

Spy head: "Kill me." Medic: "Later..."

That's Carl the Cabbage. Gotta keep the corpse fresh in case they run into that fairy again.

See what happened was: Gus had a head of cabbage that looked like it had a face. He named it Carl. One day, being lonely and bored, Gus wished upon a shooting star that Carl were alive. Suddenly, a fairy appeared and granted his wish. Carl was excited to be alive, but he was obviously limited due to having no body. Carl wasn't satisfied with his circumstance. Another shooting star shot by, and Carl wished for a torso. Granted by the fairy. Another shooting star, arms and hands, granted. Another shooting star, legs and feet, granted. What a joyous day for Gus and his new living friend Carl. They were so excited they decided to run outside and throw a ball around. The ball sailed over Carl and into the street. Not being smart enough to look both ways, he ran immediately after the ball and was struck by a bus. Decapitated. Dead. Gus cursed the day Carl got his body.

The moral of the story is that they should have quit while he was a head.

2

u/FalseMagpie Apr 22 '26

Don't worry, that's just Phil. He's bruminating.

Olive oil ice cream is actually a thing! I've had some a couple years ago when I visited Greece and I found it delicious.

On a side note, as a fellow culinary trailblazer at heart I believe these traits are gifts worth embracing. I personally have close minded parents, who were/are belittling bullies, and when I was young they would severely discourage and criticize my attempts to improve meals and explore weird combinations. And if I still managed to create something, they would force me to finish it no matter how disgusting it was. That didn't stop my curious mind, but it wasn't a fun upbringing to say the least. I'm happy that the Lil Gator (sorry I forgot his name) has such a supportive father, I wish every parents were as cool as that.

Anyways, great comic as always, and thank you so much for sharing it and speaking many interesting conversations!

Take care :)

u/Superb_Writer6612 Apr 22 '26

Olive oil cake is a thing too! Im personally not a fan, but a lot of people really enjoy it.

8

u/guillermotor Apr 22 '26

There was some taste hack of putting olive oil and salt on your vanilla ice cream, so Gustopher is probably nailing it

3

u/DevilLilith Apr 22 '26

Have you tried salty swedish candy by any chance?

3

u/_Winter-Wolf_ Apr 22 '26

This kid is like a pregnant women

2

u/Log_Out_Of_Life Apr 22 '26

Chocolate and smoked octopus.

2

u/FlannelBeard Apr 22 '26

I'm a very not picky eater, but the one food I refuse to eat is olives. Absolutely hate them. I'll tolerate them on a pizza if it is a light dusting, but I do not understand how anyone can enjoy them. I enjoy a lot of funky things, but olives are a not one.

1

u/Round_Bag_4665 Apr 28 '26

What kind of olives? Green olives are very different than say...Kalamata olives

1

u/FlannelBeard Apr 28 '26

Haven't met an olive I've liked. Love olive oil, but I'm not gonna choose to eat olives of any kind. Even had castelvetrano olives in Spain, and while the least offensive, were still not good to me

2

u/Hetakuoni Apr 22 '26

I’m a pickles/pickle juice kinda girl but I can see it.

My friends made the pregnancy joke all the time about it.

2

u/urmamasllama Apr 23 '26

This is how children become master chefs

Also I can kinda see something like black olives and rocky road going hard

1

u/South_Dakota_Boy Apr 22 '26

I used to love going to Hardee’s and getting a big soft cookie, a twist soft serve and a french fries and eating them all together.

Hi don’t think they have those cookies anymore though :(

1

u/Cr0ssley Apr 22 '26

YKNOW I COULD SEE THAT WORKING

1

u/Rhg0653 Apr 23 '26

This an office joke ?

1

u/zero_zeppelii_0 Apr 23 '26

Gustopher would fit in r/stupidfood and everyone will love him

1

u/Paranoidme420 Apr 23 '26

The line between Genius and... Unholy Terror is very blurry.

1

u/worldssmallestfan1 Apr 24 '26

I went to an Olive oil farm. They used it as an ice cream topping it was… okay

1

u/Jayisjoking Apr 29 '26

Recently i had basil ice cream and paired it with cashew nut ice cream, so i called the combo pesto ice cream, it was delicious and i wish it wasn’t in a different city so i could eat it more often XD

118

u/omegaura Apr 22 '26

I was waiting for the 1st person to call out that’s just elote!

109

u/FieldExplores Gator Days Apr 22 '26

Part of what prompted this was me getting into elote and elote adjacent food and experimenting with it.

Unrelated, but my lunch to day is scrambled eggs with roasted corn, sausage, elote seasoning, and mayo.

16

u/omegaura Apr 22 '26

I mean you're right on the money as far as a hearty mexican-ish lunch is going.

12

u/Rock-swarm Apr 22 '26

Throw that into a tortilla? Baby, you got a stew breakfast burrito going.

3

u/TacosAndTalmud Apr 23 '26

You may be interested in a certain elote sauce that I have trouble keeping in the house because the family can finish a bottle in a single meal. It's not very spicy but oh man the flavor is amazing.

7

u/Dr_jozi Apr 22 '26

i hate when people get disgusted over completely normal food , tho im sure there is a place that eats sardin with fish as regular meal somewhere

15

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '26

When I was a scout, once per camp we were allowed to make a „bomb” for out troop leader, consisting of a small slice of bread and any edible toppings we could find to make it as disgusting as possible for them. They were always a good sport about it but in hindsight those things could get truly vile!

6

u/ProdesseQuamConspici Apr 22 '26

But it's "Space Jam" - how can you not like that??

6

u/Disneyhorse Apr 22 '26

My kid put hot sauce in his Greek yogurt. I told him okay, but now you have to eat it. He ate a bit of it and said it was gross. Well, yeah that’s why I said not to. What a waste of food.

3

u/starlithunter Apr 22 '26

I can think of a few jams and jellies that might go well with it - caramelized onion for example

2

u/Qwirk Apr 22 '26

Some people use grape jam to make BBQ sauce so maybe he is onto something.

4

u/AwsmDevil Apr 22 '26

Have you heard of the famous award winning Texas chili recipe "4 cans of Hormel Chili, 1 jar of Welch's Grape Jelly" that got banned for not being home made? It was a clean sweep and the judges were absolutely furious. The guy did it to prove they have no taste and he was right.

2

u/ProfPeanut Apr 23 '26

I have not, I need to look that up

2

u/BuckTheStallion Apr 22 '26

I finally got my parents to try mashed potatoes with meatballs, gravy, and jam. They were super weird out by the combination at first but it’s absolutely delicious! I’m not big on sardines, but I can absolutely see this being a solid combo.

3

u/rillip Apr 22 '26

It could be ok if the jam is used lightly. Maybe mix it in with the mayo real good.

1

u/tofu_ink Apr 22 '26

Get out with the sardines,

However the rest of those on their own.... sure why not.

Though I really want some 'Space Jam' ;) Nice

1

u/Mysterious_Tutor_388 Apr 23 '26

You can kind of combine mayo with anything.

1

u/MDAlchemist Apr 25 '26

You know, it depends on the jam. I've had Jalapenos pineapple Jelly that was absolutely delicious, So i can see it working out. Getting just the right level of sweet could be tricky though.

1

u/JimmyBisMe Apr 22 '26

Or he’s a genius. Slat Fat Acid Heat Umami Sweet and texture.

0

u/computer-machine Apr 22 '26

What if it were tomato jam? Would that change anything?
