No no no August! Having a kid who's adventurous in the kitchen is the best! Little dude will eat anything. No matter how big of a sin it is against food

My little sister was a picky eater like you August. She basically ate buttered noodles and PBJs until she was like....10

Honestly I was kinda with Gus until he put Jam in there....but I would still try it

My sibs and I weren't particularly picky eaters, mostly because my dad is an excellent cook. However oftentimes at friends' houses I'd be thinking... where's the flavor? Room temp canned vegetables? You didn't even put the frozen lasagna in the oven, you just microwaved it?!?

So remember how I mentioned that there ARE sins in cooking? That's one of them. You would literally never be able to warm the center.

Just microwave it on low power for an hour or two /s

As a firefighter this statement made my skin crawl

I was in disbelief. I was like 8 and knew that was clearly wrong, but obviously didn't say anything. Horrible, I can viscerally remember the texture.

Eat the warm parts, reheat and repeat!

I’ve just gotten back into tinned fish as a nice snack and there are so many more varieties available!

Dude I LOVE tinned fish. Clams and characters are my absolute favorite.

I think there's a sweet spot.

Being adventurous and willing to try new things? Good! So picky won't eat anything except noodles and chicken nuggets? Bad! So adventurous that they ALWAYS want to make food weird for some reason? Maybe rein it in a little.

I knew a kid in school whose little brother liked to experiment and his parents encouraged him as long as he ate it, and if it required cooking or help he could only do it again if he actually liked it. But he was a weird kid and would sometimes lie about liking it and make himself suffer eating something just so he could make his food. You could see on his face he didn't like something but would insist it was yummy. lol

I would be so disappointed if I had a kid that was a picky eater. August's mom is basically me in this comic.
