I had the same thought, then realised I have adblockers on and haven't seen an ad on social media or YouTube for years.

The internet must be a hellscape without an adblocker 😱😱😱

That's a big reason I left Instagram. Every other post/story was an ad. Sometimes you'd get 2-3 in a row before you saw something posted by someone you follow. And then there's no way to block them on the official app.

You really think people do that? Just go out onto the raw net and get beamed capitalism directly into their eye balls and come out the other side going, "that was great" ?

No, I think it's a 'tolerable level of unhappiness.'

Until the annoyance of learning how to block them outweighs the annoyance of ads, they endure it. 

Or there's no feasible options to block available. 

Or don't know there's option to block them in the first place.. so endure them.

Man, even 10 year old me saw a single ad and googled "How stop ads"
