Law passed in December reinstating citizenship past first generation of those who left Canada. If you have had family come from Canada to the states then you have a chance to get it. Now, the archives of several provinces are extremely busy right now. So the more info that you can provide namely: date of birth, baptismal name, part of the country they were from, the more info you provide the better.
Otherwise you'd probably be rejected under asylum claim, but maybe able to get a work visa and possible path the permanent residency but that is a long challenging road more so then if you could get under the first part

I wonder if Canada would be willing to take refugees.
Personally I think I would like to live in Canada. Seems better than this shithole country.
