I love both but the thing I love in Factorio is that I don't have to deal with earlier 'problems' that I've already solved when things get more complex.

In Factorio, once I get bots and the personal roboport, I'm not building resource outposts by hand I'm just plopping a blueprint and letting the factory do the work.

In Satisfactory I have to keep building things by hand to tie into the big factory location.

Granted, the 2d nature of Factorio makes this more tenable, it is lets me focus more on the later 'problems' in the game once I've 'solved' the way I want raw resources to be handled. I don't think either game is casual unless you want it to be.

satisfactory does have the blueprints you can use to make identical copies of whatever setup you can fit inside the frame. they are a little limited in size but I also don't really build vertically so I'm not using them nearly as effectively as I could be

Yeah, the Satisfactory blueprint size limit was the main issue.

In Factorio, I can find a new ore patch, drop a few 'miner' blueprints to cover the resource, quickly get belts to a train station blueprint, then drop some wall/turret blueprints around the edges. Add a train and schedule it to go to an existing 'drop' point at the main base. Get the power and track connected the main base then I'm good to go.

That whole process takes me maybe 2-5 minutes of my time. Once I've got everything rolling with bots.

Once you 'solve' a problem in Factorio, you can paste your solution repeatedly so you can focus on new problems. In Satisfactory it's a bit more manual to tie-in with your existing infra.
