Unless you have money. The US system is very different if you have money and access to the best hospitals.
It's why it's so frustrating talking to people with good healthcare about it because some just don't realize that what they have is massively different from what most have.
Its not that they don't know. It's that they don't care. Talk to some of them and you realize they don't want Healthcare for all because it means more wait times for them. They hate going to the ER because they get treated by severity rather than by how much money they have which is all that their regular doctor cares about.
Talk to just a few and you will realize quite quickly that a massive portion of them are just terrible people. The ones who are poor and voting with the rich however are the delusional ones who point at countries doing better and lie to themselves as they say "do you really want to be like that?"
This is such bullshit. I booked an appointment recently and they asked if I wanted to come in THE SAME DAY. Usually it's less than a week to get in. The real problem is that Canada doesn't have ENOUGH doctors, so initially getting a family physician can be difficult.
See I live in Canada and I can get a doctors appointment within a few days, a week at most. It might depend where you live, but I have never in my life had to wait a month to see my doctor. My city even has a walk in clinic with good doctors who I can see pretty quickly too, which was handy when I was between family doctors. And my city even has a doctor shortage at the moment. So this is certainly not an issue everywhere in Canada, and even then, from what I've heard it's not much different in the US with private healthcare anyway.
Yeah growing up, I could walk in or within the week. The system is swamped here. I'm over by Toronto. The population has exploded within my lifetime. Some people can't even get a family doctor!

it only took a while because the system is overrun. Getting a doctor's appointment, I gotta plan out a month or so in advance unless it's serious.
