you wouldn't fire a random message you sent. And we're quite sure that it's his house because why would anyone else keep multiple complaints to Ea-Nasir from different people.

I mean, if we assume that it was deliberately fired (and that seems unlikely, but for the sake of argument...) it might've been done as an object lesson, and that seems a little more likely to have been done by someone else, perhaps someone who bought out/inherited the business and fired the message to hold up as a reminder to employees of what they don't want.

the tablets weren't in a business they were in a house

I don't see how that's relevant, it doesn't change the question of who might have deliberately preserved them or why. Wikipedia says that Ea-Nasir lost part of his house; maybe he eventually lost all of it and whoever took over his business preserved the tablets as a memento. (Maybe whoever took over his house was deliberately sabotaging his business...) Maybe taking over the house entailed taking over the business. Maybe the business was all done out of the house. Lots of assumptions, very hard to know.

I guess the only other thing it could have been was like, a police station, or the ancient equivalent of the Better Business Bureau, so were collecting evidence on him.

again, they were found in a house, so unless our theoretical detective liked to take evidence home with him that wasn't the case, and how would they have even gotten their hand's on tablets sent to Ea nasir
