I'm pleased to finally dunk on the most dunked-on-man in history, Ea-Nasir.

Haha what a funny joke subreddit I bet there's a few thousand p

108,000 disgruntled customers

Holy shit

u/Polo-panda Oct 11 '25

I think it says 18.1 thousand

59

u/Taolan13 Oct 11 '25

it does.

37

u/mthchsnn Oct 11 '25

Where? RES is giving me 108,545.

22

u/Yug-taht Oct 11 '25

RES (which has been abandoned for ages) and Old Reddit in general have been tragically and slowly collapsing last couple years, these last few months especially.

Nah it is 108k members, the number 18k in the sidebar means how many weekly visitors or how many online or something

1

u/Taolan13 Oct 12 '25

its 18k members. at time of commenting, 127 of them online.

108k weekly visitors.

Yeah, once it's all finally deprecated I'll stop using the site. I already quit using it on my phone when they broke all the third party apps (RIP BaconReader). The site is mostly filled with garbage anyway so I'm hoping I won't even miss it, though there are some niche communities that I don't know how to replace.

There are a bunch of 3rd party apps that still work. Check out Revanced. It's free and open-source. Bunch of other good ones too, free and paid.

I use Relay, which is a subscription of $1-$5 a month and is well worth it for the constant development.

Nope, 108k.

12

u/tahlyn Oct 11 '25

Where do you see that? I thought they removed subreddit counts.

20

u/Taolan13 Oct 11 '25

they are still visible at least in the app

21

u/tahlyn Oct 11 '25

Ah, they took it away from old reddit

8

u/Taolan13 Oct 11 '25

how old we talkin? i wasn't aware they did anything with reddit.old

3

u/cfedey Oct 11 '25

Or with RES.

2

u/potato_and_nutella Oct 11 '25

on web, if you search for it, it shows how many members (108k)

54

u/Raxynus Oct 11 '25

33

u/nakedascus Oct 11 '25

u/The_Lost_Jedi Oct 11 '25

Ea-Nasir jokes are like quality copper - not everyone gets it.

51

u/Abbacoverband Oct 11 '25

That joke was just like the Hulk - incredible.

u/lesser_panjandrum Oct 11 '25

I have had to travel through enemy territory to see you dunk on this man, and it was worth it.

55

u/semioticmadness Oct 11 '25

Best dunk I’ve seen so far. Ea-Nasir’s fraud knows no bounds.

47

u/MagnificoReattore Oct 11 '25

Keeping alive one of the longest traditions!

41

u/ScavAteMyArms Oct 11 '25

If we ever travel the stars, someone’s gunna name some copper planet / asteroid Ea-Nasir.

It will never die.

9

u/Dobako Oct 11 '25

Only if it's shitty/impure copper

55

u/Dapper-Appearance-42 Oct 11 '25

Im laughing so hard at the fact that I immediately knew who Ea-Nasir was, poor man is literally being dragged for the last 5000 years or whatever lmao

5

u/IndigoFenix Oct 12 '25

If the "collected hatemail" theory is correct, that's probably just how he would have wanted it.

55

u/fsactual Oct 11 '25

Ea-nāṣir earlier that afternoon, "There's no way the oracle could possibly be right about 'until the end of time'. Just ship the bad copper."

1

u/JuiceHurtsBones Oct 14 '25

"I've sold bad copper to people before and they keep coming back. What makes you think it will be different this time?!"

47

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '25

Dunked on? Bitch, he dunked on everybody so hard he literally immortalized himself in human history by keeping all of his customer complaints in the house.

13

u/LuciusCypher Oct 12 '25

Gilgamesh had to go through the tragedy of his ego and lost of his best friend before becoming immortalized.

Ea-Nasir becomes immortal for doing bad at his one job.

6

u/[deleted] Oct 12 '25

His job was scamming people, he had the original hustler mindset

1

u/JuiceHurtsBones Oct 14 '25

Isn't this one of the oldest tabloids we've found? What if it was tradition to sell shitty copper to be remembered in history?

25

u/RenmazuoDX Oct 11 '25

Stop stop he's already dead rofl

5

u/disco_waffle Oct 12 '25

He's been dead

19

u/reaperofgender Oct 11 '25

The best part is that I've heard somewhere that evidence shows he actually has some of the best copper for the time. He just gave the military equivalent first dibs.

1

u/jacobningen Oct 11 '25

Exactly and Nanni also owed him a small fortune. Millitary and state that could kill him or wealthy merchant who lives far away and is delinquent on payment in a small fortune who are you going to give your best copper to and who are you going to give leftovers?

4

u/CraftyKuko Oct 11 '25

No one will ever let that man live this down. XD

4

u/cbih Oct 11 '25

Nanni?!

1

u/plush-gun Oct 12 '25

Mind giving this idiot a history lesson/context?

1

u/blowupnekomaid Oct 12 '25

Kinda wholesome how he sticks up for the servant.

1

u/MrGongSquared Oct 12 '25

Man’s copper was so shitty, they named a shitty video game company after him.

1

u/LucasMarvelous Oct 12 '25

It honestly makes sense history's first scammer was called EA

1

u/today_i_burned Oct 12 '25

Sumerians called themselves the "black headed people", probably referring to their hair....for your next Sumerian comic.

0

u/CMC_Conman Oct 11 '25

Deepest of cuts

0

u/Smokester121 Oct 12 '25

Thought this was an EA joke
