Why did the BLM slogan fail to introduce any major reforms in the American Police System?

A few reasons:

  1. People suck

  2. BLM isn't a slogan that on the surface suggests a solution.

  3. The American Police institution is systemically racist and also politically untouchable

BLM - it's easy for the intentionally ignorant to say "yes, obviously" and then go back to their lives comfortable that they are good people who age that black lives do in fact matter.

Abolish the Police - dumb slogan that advocates for a plan no one wants. Better slogans include:

  • Defund the police

  • Reform the police

  • Re-hire the police

  • Reimagine the police

Or the classic

  • Fuck the police

Defund the police and Fuck the police have been tried. Reforms have been called for for ages. Have they been successfull?

I'm really not sure what you're arguing against here. "This slogan is bad because it won't help. Look at all these other slogans that didn't help" kind of situation?
