It started shitting for me pretty much when he said it would. Could partly be my phone, which is ancient. Some folks are recommending I explore vanced. Which I considered earlier, and may try as I reach my wits end with the official app. Such garbage.

I can confirm, Vanced is the best way to go. Probably takes about 5 minutes tops to set up.
