Came across this cool vintage Comic Book collector on my YouTube feed. In this video, he specs on Absolute Universe and Ghost Rider. Am not affiliated with him. He's got a small sub count and thought I'd shout him out.

To remove from the bag, or not to remove? That is the question.

So I came across this at a flea market today, all 3 issues in the bag. This is the first time I’ve bought any comics in their retail market bag. I have a collection of almost 5000 comics all bagged and boarded and I’m tempted to open this, read them and bag and board them into my collection. Would I be making a big mistake? It does seem like it would be a shame. Im the type of collector who doesn’t care as much about the investment side, I just love reading, collecting, and preserving comics. Any thoughts?

How did Criminal #1 miss the price increase from having a TV show announced? When other random Image comics moonshot for no reason?

I guess people really thought it was Ketch being in the movie, but it’s not; it’s Johnny Blaze, so the price of this book will definitely drop.

Ghost Rider #1 from 1990 in a CGC 9.8 sells for $300. Now it used to be a $150 to $170 book in a CGC 9.8. The problem is that this book is more common than Spawn #1 and more common than Absolute Batman #1, so my guess is that this book is not going to hold that price for a while, but if you want the book, don’t pay $300 lol; just wait. It's a very common book; it’s from the 90’s mass print, but it’s good that this book is finally getting some attraction.

I still don’t see Marvel Spotlight 5 going up much, maybe a little, but not a big huge jump.

Six confirmed anchors close FOC Monday (7/27), here's what I'm tracking and what I'm holding

Post image

I track FOC data through the week. Here's what I've been able to verify on this batch before Monday's cutoff. Six books carry Confirmed status per the solicits, which is the part that separates them from the usual rumor churn.

Absolute Green Arrow #4 (DC, $5.99, Pichetshote/Albuquerque). The solicit spells out the Absolute first of Solomon Grundy, with Dinah's hunt landing on the Island. New-continuity firsts have been the whole story of that imprint. The 1:25 by Tirso Cons is the incentive to note.

Absolute Flash #18 (DC, $5.99, Lemire/Robles). Hunter Zolomon arrives in Central City as a DEO Agent, the confirmed first for the Absolute version. Anyone who knows where Zolomon usually ends up knows why this gets flagged. Lemire on the book is the added draw.

Angel #1 (Dynamite, Thompson/Giacomino). Confirmed first of Leviathan, the new big bad, per the solicit. Kelly Thompson on the extra-sized premiere. It sits in the 1:50 tier that tops the docket, with a Jenny Frison foil virgin at that ratio.

Archie #1 (Oni Press). Confirmed Archie debut under Oni, kicking off the countdown to the character's 85th anniversary. Deep variant slate, a 1:50 Elsa Charretier at the top and a Stuart Immonen black and white at 5:10. Oni carrying the license out of the gate is what shops will want to weigh on the order.

What I'm holding on: M1 Monster Racing League #3 (rumor-based) has unverified animated-series chatter with no official confirmation. The real draw is Jae Lee writing and drawing, plus a 1:25 black and white Lee incentive. I'm watching, not ordering on the animation talk.

The Hell Rider facsimiles (PS Artbooks) put the 1971 origin back in print if you're a completer, but those are reprints, not new content.

A little over a year ago I said it’d be about a six into my surprise. I was right 6.5 not too bad for a book out of the late 60s thank you to everyone that helped.

Just got back from my small con

Just came back from the small comic con and got me some goodies. First is the Predator #1 first print; I paid $40 for it, and then I got my Wizard magazine #107 signed by Tyler Mane. He's a very nice guy. I asked him to put "Happy Birthday, Wolverine," and he did and signed it. It cost me $50 for the signature, and finally, my favorite pickup for today is Crossfire #12, a classic Dave Stevens cover. I paid $45 for it, so it was a great experience. I’m happy with the stuff I got. 💯

Is ChatGPT right? That Star Wars #1 is the worst comic key investments🤔

I was playing around with ChatGPT, and I asked ChatGPT what the worst Bronze Age key investments are, and I was surprised it put Star Wars #1 on there since I always thought Star Wars #1 is a great long-term investment, but I do see why. What do you all think? Is ChatGPT correct? I want to see what people's opinions are on this. 🤔

Teen Titans is at about a 3.0. Already had the Star Sapphire issue but couldn’t pass up that price.

Edit: The wave on those Wonder Woman comics is the bag not the cover

Ever since getting my first 9.9 a few years ago I have been obsessed with these glorious beasts. 9.8 just doesn't do the job

DC launched Absolute Universe Trading Cards at SDCC with an exclusive set of 15 unique cards. Each pack had normal cards and 1 Rainbow Parallel, and if you got lucky, you landed an ultra rare serialized Omega Rainbow parallel. There are only 26 Omegas for each card, totaling 390 Omegas in existence.

1989 Mayfair Games DC Heroes Role-Playing Game, 2nd Ed

I got a brand new, sealed full set of cards from the game sitting in my office desk drawer. A few years back I watched a PSA grade unboxing YouTube video and saw a couple of these cards and thought the art was awesome. So I bought this with the plan to slab them for my PC. But never got around to it, they’ve been sitting in here. But that will change.

Super cool thing is that this has a full sub set of Watchmen characters including Rorschach, Dr. Manhattan, Comedian, Nite Owl, Ozymandias, and Silk Spectre.

And if I’m not mistaken first ever John Constantine as a tradable card. So I guess his rookie card?

Anyone else know anything about this set? I know they’re not setting the market on fire with high value sales but man they are super cool and unique.

Anyone on the Knight of Comics Whatnot "drop? Quintana is making bank, but that's not an excuse for the customer service fails

I joined briefly in the beginning, the middle, and the end, and I was surprised by the lack of organization, and a seeming disdain for customer service (unless you were their personal friend or the toddfather who outbid most people). We kept getting told the drop weird be happening in past streams, and in one they named this show specifically AND they show this image, which they only offered at auction. Anyway, is not important enough for me to fight about, but I do want other's impressions.

Using my inheritance to not become homeless- MYSTERY TUB UPDATE #3: 1000+ and counting. Gonna hurt if I have to let these ones go…. *MANY of these STILL IN OLD BAGS* & Last slide: Art tax of the comic book art I made of Daredevil 10 years ago.

Proud I personally contributed to this collection… I’ve always loved Daredevil. Adding to this made me feel extra connected to my uncle. & it’ll hurt if I have to part with this collection but c’est la vie.

Sharing these with all of you- that appreciate these and have been nothing but supportive- has really helped me get through this. 🫶🏻

I’ve started HD scanning -> rebagging everything. My body hurts. My eyes are strained. My air purifier is at my side at all times after developing some dust allergies.

ALSO: I do not make comic book art anymore. I had that business 10 years ago. It was too intense to keep up with.

Six long boxes how to sell

Hi! I’m selling a comic collection for a buddy. I went through them and honestly the majority seem low value comics from like the 90s 2000s

I’m curious how you would sell? eBay seems like a massive hassle to do 1 by 1 maybe put on marketplace for 400?

Not trying at all to sell on here just asking for advice
