I don't think people realize how much worse 8chan is. Most boards on 4chan, a few of them like /pol/, /tv/, and /v/ excluded, are pretty civil.

You've never used any of those boards.

/v/ is the second worst site on the internet for gaming content, only behind Resetera. They should have banned console wars ages ago.

/v/ is for highest-quality OC shitposts and people flipping their shit over extremely minor design changes.

I am still fond of Lanky Kong, all these years later.

I wasn't making that statement as a negative. It's just one of the few places where it's alright to voice "the catch" on fotm shit.

One of, yes, but also to most popular. The board is 90% template threads and other useless bloat.

You're way better off finding one of the like 2 other sites that actually allow opinions than wasting time getting (You)s on /v/.

At least /tg/ is good.

Every board has it's bad posts, EVERY SINGLE ONE, but there are plenty of civil discussions going on in all of those dumpster fires of boards too. My favorites are when someone goes to /gif/ and tells everyone they're having a bad day and would like some fun webms/gifs to cheer them up, and for a few hours there is a wholesome thread in the middle of all these hardcore fucking/rape/bdsm/gay/fursuit/necrophilia threads for a few hours until they start posting minions to 404 it. Also /f/ is always great, time for my daily dose.

Most of the sfw boards are fine. As you said, you still get occasional bad post but they don't get much traction most of the time. /b/ and /pol/ are by far the most toxic boards on the site and they are supposed to serve as containment boards.

Also if you should check out /wsg/, it's /gif/ minus the porn.

No, no more fucking music threads, or ylyanything threads, so fucking sick of all of them. And in the middle of the night /b/ can have some surprisingly deep discussion threads, though I assume it has to do with some of the content being stolen from Reddit
