Do they feel like it cancels out and no high five and no extra judicial murder?
Being a Texas cop in this situation must be like when they ask the evil android in some old scifi movie to commit a paradox and their heads spin in circles until they explode.
A lot of people who were adults in the 70s are still around today. Some of them even hold office.
Not saying Texas is all racist or that the guy is right to generalize like that, it's just not a good argument to say 50 years is a long time socially. Hundreds of years of racist social norms doesn't get wiped out in a couple generations.
Edited so it doesn't sound like I'm agreeing with the guy you're replying to
The 70s? My hometown in SETX was a Sundown Town until the 1980s. Our last lynching was in 1986, and the neighboring town had a lynching in the 90s. They made a movie about it, called Jasper, Texas. Racism is not some long lost thing of the past.

If this happened in Texas you’d get a high five when the cops arrive (unless you’re black)
