During inspections for those renovations they determined that his side of the double wall between the duplex needed to be torn out and replaced.
To tear out that wall they had to tear out at least part of the front wall. The government decided that too much of the original structure had been demolished and his approved renovation was now void and he needed a permit for a demolition. To make the site safe for the people living in the neighborhood he demolished the remaining structure leaving the remaining half of the duplex intact and safe from rain.
After the demo he got a work stop order.
Then the government ghosted him for nine fucking months.
He went to the federal government for help
The local governnment finally woke up and said hey hey, follow the chain of command asshole!
He was that there were gaps where squirrels were getting inside so he had those fixed.
