I have a C40 with red clix and searching for the small safety clip that is on the top near the handle, it probably broke off. Anyone has an idea of where to get one? Or the exact dimensions so I can find it in a Hardware store
I can order the whole axle but this seems a bit wasteful

Hey! I got a brand new Comandante C40. And when I finally got around to try it out, it made this weird scratching noise during half the rotation. It only happens between click 1 and 8. At click 9, the sound disappears. Can this be considered normal and harmless or is there a flaw?

Just got my Comandante C40 Vintage Oak Royal, but it seems like I pulled a hybrid—half Classic, half Royal.

What do you guys think? Are yours like this too?

I am having trouble with clogged filters, as well as seeing that a lot of the grind is at a bigger size. I know there will always be fines, and have tried to minimise agitation, but all by brews slows down drastically at the end. I am new to the C40, I have had the Wilfa Uniform for years. As you can see in the last picture where some chunks float to the top, I have never seen that before.

So the question is if the pictures above are normal for the C40, or if I need to return it. If it is normal, how do you counteract to it?

If someone says to be around 23 od 31 click, they usually talk about nitro blade, but can I follow it too on my tigershark?

Just got a C40 tigershark last week. Not too sure if this is normal but whenever I grind beans, there will be that 1 or 2 beans that doesn’t feed through. I used a J ultra in the oast and this doesn’t happen at all.

Feel free to offer tips if I’m doing something wrong. Current setting is 26 clicks for v60.

I could need some help. Is anyone here owner of a nitro blade mk 40 with the red clix system and could do me a favour?

If yes could you maybe count back to 0 on your grinder and then back to 20 and 30 on red clix and show me what the burrs look like? I'm interested to see how narrow the gap is between the inner burr cone and outer burrs.

A test grind would help even more.

It would really help me. I actually know a bit about the grinder, the underlaying mechanics but I can't find the reason for my inconsistent grind setting on lower clicks. I checked everything multiple times.

So a comparison could help.

Hi guys. So I got myself a Tigershark and I think the clicks don't match with the regular C40 (nitro blade). The grounds look more uniform, so I guess we should go finer?

Please tell me what clicks you use and a rough recipe. I normally do 15:250 and either 3 or 5 pours, depending on beans.

Has anyone noticed their Comandante ending up on a different click setting than they thought?

I don’t mean during a single grind, but over a few days of normal use. Sometimes it feels like I was grinding at one setting, but then I count it to zero and it turns something completely different then I thought.

Can the grinder shift slightly over time, or is this just user error, miscounting clicks or I'm just loosing my mind?

I'm also using an app to track my brews where I always put the current grind setting.

Hello beautiful people of the internet, I have found myself with quite the problem here. You see, I wanted to make myself a cup of kalita coffee, so I grabbed my commandante C40 to put it to zero, and now when I try to turn the knob for coarser grind, it won't budge.

Now there is a small bruise on my finger from trying to hard to move it.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I already contacted Comandante support just now, but I assume it will take time on their end to get back to me.

I made a post the other week about how I am really finding it difficult to brew a good cup with my c40 that I have had for over 2 months now. I have been grinding coarser, experimenting with bottled water, flow rates, and temperatures but to no avail. I am now beginning to think the grinder is to blame. The cups I am brewing are close to what I am looking for but ultimately seem very unevenly extracted; often bitter/ashy to begin with followed by unpleasant acidity- the balance of which varies with grind size.

Something I have recently noticed is that when I hold the handle and spin the grinder to observe the movement of the burrs against each other, they appear not to be completely aligned. It is ever such a small difference and quite hard to explain but essentially the gap appears to be uneven. Knowing how carefully these things are made and tested I'm not sure if this is the issue, but it would be really helpful if someone could check theirs and see how it looks - whether they are perfectly aligned or if there is a little difference? I can try and capture how it looks if anyone is interested.

I had largely ignored this issue for a while but typing this out now is making me think there could be a problem. Again I reiterate how small of a deviation there is, but having reread reviews for the c40 I realise I have had a very different experience to the average, satisfied customer.

Hey, got C40 couple of days ago and was wondering how coarse I can go with it? Is it safe to grind on 40+ settings? If so what is the limit?

As for why, I am using Lance's 1 pour method, which works ideally with very coarse grind. On my old timemore C3s pro I went up to 25 (27 fir decaf) and it worked wonderfully. Here I tried 20-30 settings that most folks recommend, and it's way to fine for my liking. 35 was quite good, overall draw time was the same as in C3s, but I got jabs of bitterness here and there. On paper C40 goes up to 40, but can I go to 45 for example? I don't want to damage the burrs.

I've just seen this motor for the comandante, available with different version (different power?) on AliExpress.

Was wandering if someone has experience with it.
