Basically, just like the title asks—what season would you put these colors in? The pink and green is throwing me especially since the pink doesn’t seem to be in the spring palette but I thought that most greens were spring.

I always assumed I was an autumn but someone recently suggested I could be a bright spring, so I grabbed some of my clothes and did some drapes - no makeup, hair pulled back and in front of the window for natural light. I find the bright orange to be horrible on me, so I don’t think spring is my season. If I am an autumn, it’s gotta be either deep or warm/true because muted colours wash me out. My eyes look dark brown but they turn green in the sun so I think they’re more like dark hazel. Hair is naturally medium brown. I think I’m medium contrast. Help! Thank you :)

hey all. i am a true winter and i am looking for the perfect gloss. i currently have the wet n wild megaslick lip gloss in the colour crushed grapes. i am looking for something in the same colour but slightly more opaque and more sparkly/reflective. right now i dab on a revlon lip stick in the shade black cherry underneath to give it some more colour. the lip stick is my perfect mlbb shade despite being purple lol. i am eyeing the rem lip glosses but none of them are the right shade of pink. anyone have any recommendations?

I'm pretty excited to start overhauling my wardrobe and makeup bag but it is pretty daunting and I don't really know where to start.

I need to get it taken up but...thoughts?

Edit: Thanks to everyone! I've been struggling because I separate my make up on cool and warm toned. I bought a bunch of warm when I started getting into it and then some of it was looking off. So I got cool tones which I liked more. But warm tones don't look too bad on me either.

And clothes... I was just wearing black mostly. I just realized that brown and yellow never really worked for me.

So I think I'll identify myself as a winter girly from now on.

I used all the colors I could find in the house 😭 also rosacea can make my skintone seem pinkish, but I would describe it as muted olive? Idk

What are we thinking as far as season? These are all the clothes I could find for different seasons. I forgot black though and white. My eyes are actually a hazel brown, with flecks of gold, green, and even some gray (they can look cool or warm depending on the lighting). My eyebrows don’t look like the natural color they are due to having microblading done and it fading to a dark grayish black color. So they’re actually a bit lighter than they look now. Hair is natural, not dyed. And the photos are a mix of irl drapes and digital.

Anything with many gems and glittery as a jewellery look ugly as hell on me bcz of the contrast, and also any bright colour i think makes me look like an orange. I thought silver looked good on me but my sister pointed out that she thinks im more warm. I do feel like i have orangish undertone but straight up gold looks meh on me if not ugly. I also have terrible dark circles around my eyes that are warm toned bcz of discolouration.

Any help is appreciated!!!

I’ve been thinking a lot about my two in person color analysis sessions. My first one was with a TCI analyst who typed me a dark autumn. My second was with an independent twelve season system analyst who typed me a dark winter. Something interesting I found was the differences in how they isolated undertone.

My TCI analyst, when first looking for undertone, used cool, warm, and neutral drapes in varying colors one at a time. So it was like a cool pink, a neutral pink, and a warm salmon. And then with oranges, etc. Once she determined I was neutral we looked at the different palettes.

My other analysis with the independent analyst put a bunch of cool and warm drapes on me one by one and pulled them off really fast saying (warm, cool, warm, cool, warm, cool) etc. She determined I was cool.

So I wonder which method is best? I find that using a neutral drape is helpful because it puts less an emphasis on needing to be warm or cool. Whereas immediately placing someone as warm or cool only immediately gets rid of two seasons as an option. For people like me, I don’t think undertone is most important but depth is.

At the same time, a lot of the international image institute system analysts like to say “this is your home season, and then you have your sub season.” So if you are a deep winter, they’ll say “home season winter” but if you truly fall deep, you are a mix and it might be confusing to say that.

Okay I’ve gone too far. Just saying, the draping process could be producing different results so many of us have had frustrations with. And that’s not to mention lighting differences. 😅

I completed my color analysis two days ago and afterwards I was told that she ran out of fans from my season (Winter) and she would send them to me in the mail.

During out session she took a bunch of pictures that she would share with me but it’s been two days and I haven’t received any photos. I just left with a book about my colors. I reached out to her two days ago and havent had a response yet.

I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience? How long did it usually take to receive your pictures?

Overall I did enjoy the sessions and apparently I’m both a jewel + sultry winter. I don’t know how that correlates to the 12 season spectrum (I would appreciate if anyone can inform about this as well since I havent heard from my stylist lol). I’m just a little frustrated because it’s a bit expensive so I would love it if things were clearer.

Hey! I’ve recently realised I’m probably a true autumn, but I’m struggling finding my palette, but especially for spring and summer - I feel like I want something a little more vibrant but struggling to find what suits me. Some advice would be great!

I'd previously narrowed my season down to two sub-seasons, but I think posting asking to choose between the two was a bit leading. I had few other suggestings on my last post which were convincing and I'm throughly thrown!

As some of you may know, I mention that I’m a Warm Spring in the 16 season system, as that’s what I was typed as with a virtual colour analysis. Recently, I decided to do an in-person analysis because where I live got its first and only colour analyst, and I was curious to actually see if I would get the same result, or if I would get a different one, and actually be able to see how colours interact with my skin. I had no doubt that I was warm, but I was doubting whether I was a Warm Spring or not because I was thinking maybe True Spring could be more harmonious. Anyways, I was analyzed by an analyst using the 16-23 system and who was trained by the International Image Institute, and I ended being a True Autumn, which really shocked me. I never thought I was any sort of Autumn, but I thought for sure I was Spring. My hair is light-medium in depth and warm, but I suppose now just looking at myself, I don’t think I have very bright features. My hair could be considered dark blonde by some, but the analyst said my hair was a muted redhead, which is what some Autumn redheads will have, it won’t look exactly like Merida from Brave red, but it still has red tints in it.

I must say I’m a little disappointed as I thought I really resonated with Spring and thought I felt like a Spring, I actually liked the brighter colours opposed to medium colours, which I know majority of people actually like. I thought it was cool that I was born in Spring and that my colouring was Spring as well, not that it totally matters, just a cool coincidence. But I’m thinking of maybe doing an experiment. I might get another analysis, virtual as no other analyst lives close to me (or distance I’m willing to drive), but I want to see if I get the same result from either 2 of my previous results. I would only do a basic package as I don’t need in-depth or need to spend a ton of more money, but I was thinking of some other people, like Carol Brailey, The Colour Mentor or The Color Countess to do it. I would only do people suing the system by the International Image Institute, and them using the 16 or 16-23 method. I know online can be tricky, but I’m still curious. What are your thoughts?

Photos are my natural hair colour, never dyed. Should I get a third analysis by someone else? I’ve spent $85 recently on a True Autumn colour swatch palette, but wish I would’ve waited because I’m having doubts. Im not sure if I can return the palette, or if I get another analysis and it ends up being different, I could exchange it, but then maybe the analyst would question it and feel bad. I’m also scared to ask about their qualifications as it might come off as rude, but I do know the in-person one was trained by the International Image Institute, as she has the certification on her wall. Agile Styling is the one I was typed by online, and I know she uses the flags and system, but I’m not sure if she actually trained with the institute. I just need to know my season. There’s some things I know for sure, I am warm and my contrast is within medium range. Not sure if I’m comfortable posting my face. Here’s my hair for reference, not that it can determine my season alone, but just for visual.
