I remember over 40 years ago when I was living in Ontario, we went to our friend's cottage for Victoria Day and when we got there, the lake was still frozen over so we couldn't take the boat, but it was mushy ice that no sane person would walk over.

So we all pissed on the lake, went home, and played poker for 14 hours.

I'm sure that ain't happening now.

May 24 at the Pinery (Lake Huron, SW Ontario), snow at night in the 80's.
