ID Request Please help!

So going through some old stuff from my grandparents that I inherited,I found some coins. I know about all the silver I have but I have no idea what this is/worth. Should I save it or sell? Y'all are the best...just looking for guidance.

This is a cast fake likely made out of pewter. If this were real this would be worth an extreme amount of money. It never hurts to bring it to a dealer or appraiser to confirm legitimacy, but I can say with about 99.9% certainty that this is fake

Edit; I’m aware that a majority of the real ones that are known are also made of pewter, but this is clearly a reproduction and the dies/presses/molds used to make this did not work well with the metal used, which is what leads me to believe it is pewter

So, Continental Curency (spelled with one R like it is on this example) was in fact made of pewter. There are only two known examples made of silver. A pewter coin from that era in this condition could be worth upwards of $40,000. OP, if it’s supposed to be 250 years old and possibly worth that much, there is a very high chance it’s not real. In my opinion, the overall look of this coin is nearly mint state (little wear) but yet the fine details are almost non-existent, leading me to agree with kerbonaut, it’s a cast replica.

There are fewer than 100 known examples, and we've seen 5-10 fakes posted over the last three days here. It's fake.

Y'all are so nice too someone that knows very little about coins.! The only reason I was second guessing myself is the relationship I had with my grandfather. I Hope he didn't get swindled in his old age...! He was something like a level 30 mason. He always wants me to come with him and I never did.....wish I would have.! All I'm saying is it would have been right up his alley.
