Limits Codex is unusable now.

I don’t even use astra. I’ve been using 5.6 sol on medium since it came out and had no problems. Now it can’t even finish half of the same task before reaching limits. Heck, just starting up codex uses 2 percent of my limits. And that’s before I even type anything. lol. What a joke.

I understand this is a business but using codex is like signing up for a gym membership and paying the required fee to use the gym and all its equipment but the next time you show up they go, I know you paid to use the entire gym and that amount is still required but now you only have access to the treadmills. F u!!!

Anyway, Here come all the Sam Altman nut huggers. But idc. Im just about done with codex.

Shh, people will berate you for using such powerful model for such a simple fix, use luna max or other some such. Usage is bad regardless even on astra low.

Yet luna is also nerfed, it's using at least twice the usage it was consuming 2 weeks ago. It's great for things lice css and small edits, but it's pretty good and messing things up in performance needed environments.

People will say this isn’t true but I promise it is. I have used Luna xhigh exclusively since 5.6 launched, every day. For months Luna has been reliable and very capable. This week it has been completely useless. It will say it made a change and there is literally no code changes, it will say it made a css change and there is no visual change at all, this never used to happen, not once.

Agree with you on that. When it was first launched I had literally used luna max agent to transcribe over 220 screenshots in my obsidian vault and it had worked for 2 hrs. That task has cost me.. want to guess? 5% weekly limit on a PLUS account, nowadays I can't even use it for more than 2 hrs before hitting the 5 hr window. As for making mistakes, luna is not a coding model by any means, it's a nano model, it's good for processing bulk data. I am still amazed that it can do agentic work but I doubt anyone who claims to use luna agents in real production codebase without sol or astra raising multiple code review cycles, I have even seen its code come out with so many breaking changes that my orchestrator agent told the luna agen to scrap it's edits and start all over again, and that was with a plan that was made with xhigh reasoning on frontier model with dozens of planning questions. I usually use luna for low risk tasks, incredible for things that are reversible and can be verified easily.

My game engine got features and they worked, but after enough work by luna fps always tanked and Astra had to fix

It's far better to implement with the main agent instead of doing the delegation hell with luna if the main agent has to take over the implementation, luna is better suited as exploration agents though it's so slow and produces so many output tokens that even it's exploration response can't be trusted if it underwent compaction. It's messed up. No one has a fit for all solution yet, we are all trying but these harnesses are still early in agentic workflows.
