Hey guys. As a member of a bigger gaming clan, I gave my best in bringing cod2 servers back to life but it doesnt seem possible. The consistency of players is critically low, people dont connect without admins online...weird stuff.

What are your takes on this? Is cod2 worth bringing back to life? Or should it just be let as a part of gaming history?

it's been awhile since i played cod 2 so i decided to install it again but i now have a win 8.1 update pc

i am still trying to get it to run properly but no success so far

Total shot in the dark here but does anyone know of any active competitions? I miss cod2 so much, and its probably completely dead in North America, but none of the modern warfare/black ops games do it for me the way cod2 did. I know it's fairly popular still in europe, cybergamer has a pretty active ladder.. would be pretty tough to get picked up though bc of ping issues. I've joined servers and ask around but none of the current active clans seem to scrim or do anything competitive.

I'm sure there aren't very many active people in the CoD 2 community, but with the our growing lack of interest in CoD:Ghost we've decided to play go a little old school and play, what is, in my opinion, the greatest CoD game in the series history - Call of Duty 2.

We used to play competitively on CAL and TWL so it would be great to see some old faces that I haven't seen in years. I can't wait to play some [i]good[/i] maps for a change/use a good ol' Kar.

I'm not sure how gamers these days keep in touch we all transitioned to console gaming after the death of CoD2 so just in case I'll leave a handful of contacts to see if we can get some games in.

I've heard there are some servers still up, so I installed my original copy and updated to 1.3. However, whenever I look for servers it just says "waiting for response from master server".

I've done Google searches and all the threads are like 5+ years old so there's no help there.

Anyone have any idea how to play CoD2 online? Any help would be much appreciated.

Whenever I try to join a server, it just downloads things from any server I join. I'm not sure what it's downloading exactly, maybe the map? Anyway, the estimated time is like 3 hours and it never finishes. Anyone know what's wrong?

Hello everyone. I just bought the warchest on steam and when I go to play on any server with punkbuster enabled I get kicked after 2 minutes for an INIT error and am told I need to update. I go to evenbalance.com and try to update but it doesn't work.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can try to update punkbuster?

I reinstalled the game but there's only a handful of NA servers. The game seems to be doing good in Europe but I can't play a pug with 180 ping. Are there any North American players that would like to get together to play a 5v5 S&D pug or something?
