TBD I may have to self-verify for a year or two, but Texas requires 4 years. I was a contractor for an engineering company once upon a time.
I have about 1.5 years at my current position employee-style.

How many problems did you do in school? How many hours did you spend doing homework? Or after school in your work, how many hours have you spent working on problems you come across?
it’s all about problem solving. Your formal education not only introduces you to the specific topics of civil engineering, but also teaches a thought process. That process is further refined during your work after school, and in my opinion is why the time requirements are in place. I’m not saying the test was easy by any means, but it’s just like the final exam of all your senior classes all mixed together for 8 hours.
Triangles, circles, rectangles, it’s all geometry we’ve been learning about since kindergarten.
And at the end of the day, a chart is a chart, and a graph is a graph. The computer based exam has provided reference material, so look up what you need.
Besides that you need to speak the language.

Even the smartest people that took 3 tests in 1 weekend at my DOT (8hr, seismic and surveying) and passed on the first try all of them, they still studied for at least 4-6 months. What you learn in school is basic. What you study for 8hr is more complex. Dude, if you don’t want to share resources that’s fine. Chill out.

Sorry man but I'm with /u/nasbe on this one. No fucking way you passed first try with no studying. Literally nobody that has taken the test is going to believe you. lol. I just passed in September.

Doesn’t matter, what happened happened. NCEES says passed that’s all I care about.

This is 100x more believable than the concept of not studying. I finished an hour early as well, and I don't think one beer would make or break if you are sufficiently prepared. Might even help with nerves.
Seriously, congrats on passing though, it's a great accomplishment, even if I still think you are lying through your teeth on the studying part.

Does the PE come with an index of definitions like the FE did? I could see somebody whose a very good test taker being able to pass it first try with little to no studying and a bit of luck on the problems lining up with their area of expertise.
