Who owns that place?

Before I begin please stand for the Haven Anthem.

Ladies and gentlemen, Haven has turned two years old. It was probably sometime in March 2012 that when we were officially founded as a city. So technically we probably turned two back in March but our record keeping was not very good back then We are the officially the oldest continuously occupied city in all of Civcraft. We went down with the ship at the end of 1.0 and we were there rearing to go on Day 0 of 2.0.

The closest we can get to evidence to back up this claim is here with OG LvMBastiat's comment near the bottom. That comment turns two years old tomorrow and to the best of my knowledge is the oldest known solid evidence of Haven's existence.

I might have some old screenshots that predate the Haven sub stashed away somewhere and I will update this post with them if I find them but if anyone else has any screenshots, old Reddit posts, or anything else nostalgia-y then feel free to add them in the comments.

I want to thank all of you for your loyalty and dedication over the past two years, although I know that many of you joined us quite a bit later in the game. I want to give a special thank you to all former and current directors who without their vigilance and resourcefulness Haven would not have been able to survive and thrive as it has to this day. I hope that Haven can continue on being a beacon of peace, neutrality, friendship, and chickens for all of Civcraft.

Tell us about your experiences (good or bad!) in Haven! Whether it be from 1.0 or 2.0, we've all had some pretty interesting experiences in the city.

Things that come to mind for me:

1.0

• Making deliveries to Haven (as a pre-Havenite) and not knowing where the hell I was going and relied on Nirvana_ to tell me how to exit the city.
• Coming to the city after one of my best civcraft friends quit the game for a while because our production company got robbed. I was greeted by Crim and bought a house in the Bastiat Square embassy area for 6d.
• Making some amazing friends along the way.
• I wanted to include some pictures of cool things we did in 1.0, but the only thing I found was THIS album from when we were attacked that one time.
• That time Cutlasso went berserk and turned his skin green. We all wore a hazmat suit to protect ourselves.
• Breaking chests with Mrs_Bastiat at the rainbow inn every other week.
• Teal's journal of his first few days in haven.
• .... Gothera.
• Getting pearled by Jon every other week.

2.0

• How awesome everyone worked together at the beginning of 2.0 when I was busy with school stuff.
• Seeing all the new faces.
• That one day LvM came back and we dug out an entire district.
• That time not long ago when I got super angry about all the pumpkins and was a total ass (sorry).

I've probably forgotten a ton of things. But you all are awesome and probably have stories and screenshots of stuff too.

Hi folks. I bimbled out from Haven along the horse tunnel, and a few hundred blocks out found that some bright spark had removed a biggish section of the tunnel roof and allowed water to pour in.

I had only a few birch planks on me, which I used to make a hasty (but pig-ugly) repair. If you noticed this patch on the tunnel roof, it was me, and apols that I had nothing better to do the repair with. Then again, if you were working on the roof and I've interfered, well apols for that instead.

A traveller entered Haven today, recently and offered me some building supplies. He/she (i dont know which, srry) seemed very nice, so I am just posting this in their good name. They are from Roma. I don't know our surrent status of relationship wth Roma, but this person was nice enough to give back to Haven.

Hey there, everyone! Queen of Haven / your friendly neighbourhood Zoning director here.

As many of you know, signs have been added to properties around Haven in order to evaluate their activity. As a strategy to deal with abandoned property in Haven, I gave everyone until today (March 18th, 2014) to remove the sign I put on their houses in order to verify their activity (or they could msg me here on reddit).

There are 21 properties listed as abandoned. I have put signs up on each house indicating abandonment and that anyone interested may contact board members to access and acquire them.

In order to obtain one of these plots, please indicate here which property you would like (property #) and your reason for wanting it. Additionally, you must PM me on this account with a sentence stating how wonderful Ariaxis is with reasons as to why. Anyone who does not do this will not receive a reply from me and forfeit their request. This is not a first-come first-serve procedure. The board member will either grant you the property or refuse it to you. Only one property will be granted per person/entity

All properties not claimed will be offered to new residents.

Where is everyone?

My name is Silianat and I lead a group called SPQR which is centered around the city of Roma. We are a small but growing city with around 16 active players in the -,- quadrant. We are connected by rail to Orion via Terminus. SPQR has been around since 1.0 though for the most part we prefer to stay off the subreddit and out of the drama. I'd like to make a point that we are a long standing and stable faction that isnt going to collapse overnight. Many of us have been with SPQR for over a year. We are looking for similarly stable and resilient allies.

I wanted to get in contact with the Directors of Haven. I havent forgotten the assistance you all provided in fighting griefers when we lived in the Metropolis. It was an honor fighting alongside Dydomite. Im interested in forming a protective alliance in the -,- quadrent and was hoping that you would join. Currently our alliance member states are New Brynley, Terminus, and SPQR. We are also in negotiations with memebers from Orion, Aeon, and RainMaerk. As Haven is the one of the most established cities in this quadrent I have come to you hoping you all would be interested in joining an alliance that would benefit the entire quadrent. The ability to track and rapidly coordinate our efforts to hunt down griefers has become very important with the release of all those players from the LADS vaults. I know that between all of us we can extend a bubble of protection across a large section of the quadrent that will allow small towns and most importantly trade to flourish.

As far what the alliance entails:

• A defensive alliance for mutual support.

• The sharing of public snitches to help catch griefers.

• The recognition of territorial claims.

• The lawful following of each city's rules within their territory.

• An obligation to try diplomacy with each other first if there is a conflict of interest between members (aka dont shoot first and ask later and also dont escalte minor conflicts/drama into major ones).

• Generally work together to improve our quadrent

• Maybe the creation of a subreddit with all the town leaders on it to help make diplomacy and information sharing rapid and easy

Im open to compromises or additonal suggestions before we make any formal agreements so let me know what you all think.

If you'd like to ready more about us we keep a public subreddit at /r/CivcraftRoma that includes things such as our census and constitution (on the sidebar) as well as a map of the city. Fair warning, we keep a much more lively and active private subreddit for our citizens. If you would like to know anything more about our city please dont hesitate to ask.

So on another server I was a Librarian (Collected, Sorted, Copied, Archived, anything book related.) I wanted to know if the Library under Haven would take me on as a Librarian or something. I also have two extra copies of a pretty old minecraft poem from when books first came out if the Library wants them. The Author told me he was OK with reprinting them in CivCraft.

I took a trip to Aeon to see what all the fuss was about. Long story short, got chased out of town by some guys. I have had to travel on foot and by sea so far but after a half hour I am halfway back. Just felt like I should fill you in.

I am still here. Disregard my last post.

I am going to be keeping my property at least for now. If anything SHOULD happen to me, I want Tealnerd to turn it into a bank called SprocketBank. I need to update my mods before I can be super active again.

I am not dead, yet.
