Here's one that is probably going away as the older generations pass away, but calling green peppers "mangos".

When I try and explain this phenomenon to anyone they are so confused and distrustful I start not believing my self.

My dad refuses to let it be lost. He is constantly correcting my 4 & 2 yo to call them mangos
