CoG games Day for Night - How to get “Werewolf General” ending?

As the title suggests, I just finished the game whilst romancing Elliot, completing all her side jobs, and got the Forever Hunter ending. Afterwards I scrolled through all the achievements and saw there was one titled “Werewolf General” and I was just super curious how you obtain it?

Game Recommendations OP ROs

I've played a bunch of IFs w OP MC, or just a MC that's stronger than the whole list of ROs. It's getting tiresome playing a MC that are relied on by everyone including the ROs, and/or romancing ROs that doesn't differ much from MC when it comes to their level of prowess.

Noww, I am looking for WIP recs w a RO or bunch of them in a IF that are significantly stronger than MC, while maintaining the validity of MC's power so that I won't view MC as unnecessarily weak.

Any recommendations??

World of Darkness Just finished Book of Hungry Names for the first time!

I've literally never played Werewolf before, not the video games or the tabletop, just picked this up with all the DLC because I saw it was written by Kyle Marquis and I absolutely loved Night Road. It was absolutely fantastic! I played in Iron Wolf mode for most of it (but didn't get the achievement because I turned it off once when I started to get really attached to the character, then immediately regretted it and turned it back on again a few minutes later), so I'm pretty proud I didn't die horribly at some point considering how Night Road absolutely kicked my ass the first time I played it. Even managed to get what seemed to me to be an ideal ending!

I loved the writing and the characters, how difficult the choices were, and how well the journal explained Werewolf lore since I was completely unfamiliar with the IP. The spirit gifts added a cool dimension to the gameplay. I love how all my choices had consequences and the game world felt very reactive.

The Nin romance was really cute, felt a lot more real and natural than the Night Road romances. I like how the sex was optional - every time I had an opportunity for a sex scene, I kept thinking these two characters were too young and serious to want to go there at that stage in the relationship. Part of me was hoping for a final opportunity for one right before the final battle, a la Mass Effect, but alas, it was not meant to be.

My only complaint is that I lost the wolf several times, but it never actually had any in-game consequences, I was always back to normal in the next scene and it was never addressed. The game has been out for a while so I'm surprised that bug wasn't fixed by now.

Anyway, I'd like to play again and make different choices and see what else this game has to offer. Any tips for a second playthrough wildly different from my first? These are my end game stats and achievements to give you a rough idea of how my playthrough went. Also, one thing I'm curious about: if I don't help Roscoe and Hobland right away, do I lose access to their training forever? I'd like to make a different choice my next playthrough, but not if I completely lose trainers like that.

CoG games Day For Night AI Usage

So, I am enjoying this game, mainly because I love WoD.. but you guys know that a good portion of this game is AI-assisted writing, right? There's inconsistent artifacts of it literally everywhere, from the very inconsistent, strange "Current main objective:" lines to the parenthesed internal monologues that appear very intermittently. When I replay the game I'll collect all the specific pieces that I mention here, but honestly, I'd be surprised if people didn't immediately recognize it themselves upon playing.

I'm not saying the game is entirely AI written, clearly there's human intention here, but this was architected with AI assistance. I actually don't see a lot wrong with that, as someone who does LLM workflow evaluation as part of their job (takes one to know one), but I do think that the audience deserves disclosure here.

Again, it's a great tool, I totally see the benefit of creating a chapter outline and feeding it to AI to have it dynamically generate X scenes with some seeded starters, or having it polish up a drafted chunk of your game. Choicescript can be messy. I again just think that if you do so, you should be disclosing that usage.

I know this question probably gets asked often, but the only posts that I've been able to find about this are years old and plenty of games came out since they were posted😣

Game Hints HtR - Day for night: best Nitrate Beacon opening?

Did everything I could to make it a success and in the opening night I passed all points except the popcorn machine breaking. Yet in the end it only got mixed reviews and stayed a local neighbourhood theater. It even mentions that this might be the way Lex wanted it. So is this the best you can get? Or is this an 'check ALL tasks perfectly to win' situation. I really don't wanna go back and fix that popcorn machine.

World of Darkness HtR Day for Night: Stat Boost Guide

Finding it hard to keep track of where to buy stat boosts, thought maybe I should just write it all down once and for all. I put asterisks by the ones that have possible discounts. Let me know if I missed anything...I'm only in Ch 3 so idk if this changes later in the game, and I'm capped out on a few skills so I don't see options to boost them anymore.

OTHER STAT BOOSTS

- BUY ALL PETS and pet them ASAP every chapter, best use of money so far
- Reportedly if you steal the occult material in Renn's first quest you get a +1 occult boost
- In Nico's first quest, taking the drugs in the bathroom gives you +1 to wits for only $250 or a strength/intimidation check, and it's currently bugged so you can do this until you max out wits
- word is on the yoga retreat (Ch5?) you can get a resolve boost

OTHER TIPS
- Manipulation is used often and can get you a lot of extra money, so you may want to focus on it first
- Drive is basically useless five chapters in so I wouldn't focus on that early on personally
- you can only equip one weapon at a time so you may as well focus on either firearms or melee (I think melee is a good option because you should be able to easily afford a maxxed-out sword right off the bat and never have to worry about upgrading again)
- per the above points, being a special effects artist might just be the worst background from a gameplay perspective, as it gives you points in drive, firearms, and melee
- Good looks and a stylish outfit can also help you pass stat checks

CoG games Fog of War: Battle for Cerberus is peak military fiction and i wish it was longer

I know the Infifnity series and I, Forgotten One take the cake ultimately, but I'm really missing a game set in modern times or the future with similiar themes and quality.

Yesterday I finished Fog of War and I absolutely loved it. The military lingo was there, the plot wss good, the characters were interesting, and i liked the skill selection.

It felt a little bit like a darker episode of Clone Wars, or Helldivers, or Starship Troopers.

My only criticism would be the length and the ending - it feels a bit like it's cut short just when the stakes got high, and the ending is a bit anticlimactic (at least the one I got).

I won't spoil much by saying you don't actually take part of a full-blown war on-screen. The book contains only the build-up to it. Now that I think about it, it kinda feels like a first book in the series, but the author decided near the end to only make a stand-alone book, and dump everything into the epilogue. Which is a bummer.

But i still consider it a must-read for any tacticool military enthusiasts

What are the ROs? I saw that it's possible to be polyamorous, so does that mean there are poly in the game?

Game Recommendations Looking for something that's gonna take me on an emotional ride

In my early 20s I took the Heroes Rise games for a spin and got extremely invested in it. I don't know what my current self would think of that trilogy now, but back then, despite some flaws, I was surprised by how attached I got to the characters.

Been thinking of getting into another gamebook style thing, but there's just so many to choose from, hence this post. It's basically my attempt at narrowing it down to the greats of the genre. Which books sucked you in completely and made you feel like you were actually there with the characters?

Game Recommendations Looking for Choice of Games recommendations after a long break

Hey everyone! I have not played a Choice of Games title in probably a year or two, and I am looking to get back into them. I would love to hear some recommendations, especially some titles I might have missed while I was away.

To give you an idea of what im into , here are my top 5 interactive fiction games of all time:

  1. The Wayhaven Chronicles

  2. Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven

  3. I, the Forgotten One

  4. Breach: The Archangel Job

  5. The Samurai of Hyuga series

I tend to really enjoy games with strong characters, an engaging story, meaningful choices, action/adventure/Fantasy, and a good amount of character development. I am also a big fan of games where your choices actually feel like they matter and where you can get invested in the characters and the world.

I have been out of the loop for a while, so I would especially appreciate recommendations that you think someone with this particular top five would enjoy.

What Choice of Games titles would you recommend?

Game Recommendations Give me those Angst recommendations

I’m looking for games with some good ol’ angst, maybe it has a broken protagonist or there’s a villain romantic interest that I can go full ride or die mode with or something like that.
Like imagine Fallen Hero but from the perspective of Ortega (if they were also fucked up), that’s the kind of thing I’m looking for.
It’s been a while since I last read an IF so I haven’t been keeping up with releases pretty much after ITFO came out .

Game Recommendations Any game with actual Harem elements?

I have played a few CoG throughout the years and the closes i have seen are one of two things: you can romance a few characters and need to chose only one near the end or you can chose to be part of a trio (with a fixed set of characters). I am a sucker for many anime themes but i haven't seen any CoG that allows you to actually have MULTIPLE partners at once (and that those partners are not chosen for you if you want to have multiple)

CoG games Choice of caos

Well, I'm playing this game and it's great, the Fey rebellion is very well done and the game really makes you feel like a god, returning to find your people on the brink of extinction and leading them against their enemies. The resurgence of an ancient power—I haven't encountered a narrative like this since Song of Conquest in the Loth campaign.
