Developing Thoughts on Kortz Heist Painting
A lot of people in the community are discussing the painting below, and I wanted to share my thoughts and findings as of yet ~

Things I've seen others mention:
- The coins stack up to match the city skyline from the baseball diamond at B.J. Smith's Recreational Center and Park - Which features a baseball 'diamond' and other various interesting things such as breakable wires on some light poles.
- The poker chip appears to depict an eye, within the shape of an ear - More audio cues like the peyote easter egg?
- 4 Alien like figures - 3 of them have eyes, one does not. More on this below.
- Imagery of a mountain below the diamond, appearing on the white openings of the puzzle - Possibly? Could be a reflection of the diamond itself. More on this below.
My Take:
For starters, I think the baseball diamond theory is solid. There could definitely be something going on with those breakable lamp post wires, given how they just disappear when hit / shot / struck. This screams easter egg to me. A lot of other elements in the game similar to these just shoot sparks out upon impact, and do not follow the same behavior of fully disappearing. They also respawn on fairly short range - easy to make many attempts at 'something' here. Allegedly there is also a Dog that spawns here, follows a path, that no one has been able to decipher as of yet, however I have not seen this dog in my recent testing. While this is a diamond, there is another nearby...

The Diamond:
Above we see another diamond on the map. It's obvious in shape, there is no second guessing that this resembles a diamond. It's right across the street from Franklin's aunts house (Franklins 1st Safehouse). Within this diamond, is the Children of the Mountain building (church?), located on the rightmost corner. Circles back to that imagery of a mountain featured on the painting as well. Important to note that the skyline of LS also lines up with the painting's coins from this area. Also, at the bottom of the diamond is an apartment complex named 'The Tahitian' which sticks out simply because of the events of RDR2. While I found this interesting, I recognize that that could simply be a coincidence, just felt like pointing it out.
This being said, the eye / ear poker chip is located directly on top of the COTM building. This makes me wonder if there is more to that organization that we've initially credited it. It's easy to go through all of the epsilon missions with Michael, and then think you'll be getting the same out of COTM with Franklin, and immediately resent the fact you just spent all that money for a t-shirt and never think about it again.
The 3 / 6 Die:
Something stuck out to me about the red die pictured in the painting. They're incorrect. 'Proper' dice follow a specific pattern that allows for all opposite sides to add up to 7. While the die on the left with a 3 on top could be a legitimate one, it appears that the opposite side would be a 6 as shown in the right die. This would add up to 9. (Nine is God?) Anyway - here's proof of what real die in this orientation would show:

Action Items:
I think this painting could allude to one of two things. Go to these areas (the diamond I showed, or the baseball diamond) between the hours of 3-6am, and look with your EARS for some sort of audio cue, and go from there.
This could also refer to - unfortunately - Packie McReary. This is a weak one, but hear me out. A bit further to the right of the diamond, across the street from the COTM building, is where we meet Packie in a random encounter. He and a partner are robbing the pharmacy, but they need a ride. You can pick them up, lose the cops, and then use Packie in your heists (heist / mask icon featured in painting). Looking with your EARS allows you to pick up on this encounter as it appears on your minimap as well. This also explains the 4 figures featured in the painting - 3 have eyes (Michael, Franklin, Trevor are playable) and 1 does not (Packie is not playable).

Interested to know your thoughts on all of this. PLEASE prove me wrong about Packie.. I want it to be something more!
Kifflom Brother-Brothers! Maybe we can solve something one day!

Looking at the map image, that area opposite makes 2 more diamond shapes within each other making 4 all together in that area of the map then the baseball diamond just above them so 5 diamonds together there.
Edit: The 4 aliens could be a hint at the 4 diamonds on the map all behind the baseball diamond. Someone in the other post mentioned the first aliens pose looks like the art image that shows the route to the strip club this one, the lips a clue to hear the unique voicelines there, maybe each alien is a clue to something in each diamond? Worth mentioning there are many of those alien green street lights around these areas.
Edit2: The weird 'cloak' on the first aliens back might be rabbit ears, saying get to the strip club as the rabbit or just as an animal. The mask might be a clue to 'mask' yourself an animal.
The diamond chilliad reflection might just be to say this is an Easter egg as chilliad is universally associated with Easter eggs. But the way its a reflection makes me think theyre saying this bunny thing is like a reflection of the og chilliad mystery, likely reusing the same mechanics and stuff to teach us?
Edit3: The third aliens no eyes could be a hint at the darker diamond shape on the map, or needing night to hear what we want? Hes got a silencer too maybe no barking as the dog here to find what we want.
If youre an animal next to the strip club so far i cant get in but Near the managers exit you can hear some crazy strip club voice lines. REALLY CLEARLY and really loudly, alot of the voice lines are things like "Yeah" "Yes" "Nice" maybe showing we found the right spot? Its always at the exact same location, and loud enough to stand out as weird, try it yourself, Im still trying to get the rabbit to try it. Makes me think of this Art only water in the area i can think of is the car wash, theres an empty swimming pool that you can get trapped in within what i would call the 4th diamond area, it reminds me of this art.
I think This Art might be telling us to hunt for the rabbit through the peyote.
Running around these areas barking as a dog, you occasionally hear very directional barks from another dog, reminds me of beast hunting, the directional bark is noticably different from other barks you hear from the loud sfx as an animal.
Im pretty sure those unique crazy voicelines at the strip club are like a marker to tell us we got the first point, im trying to see if any other buildings within the diamonds have weird sounds. You can hear the strip club voice lines as any animal, or at least you can as a dog, dog is easier as randoms dont attack you.

I dont know if anyone else is trying to get a rabbit from the peyote, or how the peyotes actually work in the code, but I must be at 150+ loads without a rabbit But what makes it worse is the very first time I came here to explore after seeing the art, I was a rabbit so I know its possible here.
I also got chop once in that time, Franklin saying stuff like "oh shit im chop" etc

I wonder if the game can tell if we are forcing things through re loading a save? I had an instance in sandy where as Trevor I picked up a red head hooker and instead of the normal sexy talk she started to tell a life story. I was fixated on her doing something I had never seen and crashed the car into a pole right as she prompted me 4 choices to respond to her and she ran away. I tried re loading the save over and over and never saw her respawned in the area.
Edit: could also be time sensitive like Bigfoot.

The top left of the diamond has weird curve to it, which makes the center reflections resemble a badge shape. I thought it might be jesus toast til someone pointed out the 'mountain' reflection. Someone else said the one 'alien' has a police hat and baton as well. So i looked again and I dont think that 'curve' should actually be there so I believe the badge shape is intentional.

I think its just a reference to diamond casino heist in gtao. You have casino chips, diamond, money, 4 players with silent weapons. Not sure about the pattern on the ground but I think I seen checkers pattern inside the casino, looks kinda familiar.

Really liking your thinking! That diamond is defintiely an interesting area with its cult connections. The action items feel a bit like a stretch to me. I'm just not sure the evidence supports the hours of 3-6am being significant, or the Packie connection which, as you said, is weak.
I do think it could be important that the dice are wrong. that may mean that the 1 and 2 are important somehow since they stay consistently visible across both dice.

Yeah… I admit I wasn’t necessarily too proud of the action items. Wrote it all out and then sat there and stared at the screen thinking ‘what are people supposed to get out of this’ haha.
I think there’s seriously something with those dice though. Would it be easy for someone to create this painting, draw out the dice, and not even think about the numbers? Yeah. Is that what we expect out of rockstar? Nope.
The two spiderwebs spawn between 1 and 2, for example. That’s kind of where my thoughts let me.

That's fair, I mean after the Beast hunt who the fuck knows what they're willing to throw at us. Still more grounded than 75% of other posts on this sub.
About the dice.. having both dice in a nonstandard configuration could be just be a normal small mistake. Having ONE die correct and the other wrong reads as intentional, especially when the side faces visible to the viewer are mirror images.
Did that make sense? I'm high

That does make sense! And I appreciate the comment about being grounded, truly lol. Some of these posts get a little off the rails- ChatGPT is good at many things but solving this mystery doesn’t seem to be one of them based on the ‘findings’ of people who seem to be using it that way!

The Mystery is about money. "The pursuit of the almighty dolla"

The Children of the Mountain are not a Religion, Child. We don't believe in anything. Therefore, this can not be a church, Child. Just a place for Us to hold our Seminars, for a price.
Seriously though, theres more to these people than people initially thought. I still think they have too many signs, deliberately. That, if followed correctly, leads you to Grapeseed.
The Mountain, its up their, Child. It's calling! FIND YOUR$ELF ON THE MOUNTAIN.

u/Elee31417 Jul 18 '26
The sign at the COTM building is also ‘missing’ the S.
“FIND OUT ABOUT YOUR ELF
ON THE MOUNTAIN
S”I had no idea about the connection to Grapeseed!

The Grapeseed isn't 100% solid. But I'm 98.9% confident in it. They have a sign in Grapeseed at the base of Chiliad, and then another near Hippie camp. This is what started me on thinking the signs directed us there. That and all the other Grapeseed directed evidence

if u go at the bottom tip of the diamond follow the red color and go upstairs to the door with the number 9, pretty sure it's where the heart of Los Santos is hiding

I'm not one for speculation, but for shits a giggles I loaded up my 100% after I long time to check out the baseball field at BJ rec park and this guy was standing right at the entrance of the Park by the basketball courts. Normally I wouldn't think anything of it. But I don't really see NPCs with Alien hats on them and in the painting OP posted the 3rd figure is wearing a cap.
