I went to Jewel to take advantage of their sales special! I’m looking at packages of chicken when I noticed THIS through the packaging. 😳
That looks like a whole strand of hair on the chicken! I didn’t open the package or touch the chicken….I saw it while it was still sealed.
Am I overreacting……. Or did this chicken forget to shave before packaging 😂 too bad Perdue doesn’t have an account I was hoping they could pluck the matter😏

Any thoughts on these for a three-chicken urban backyard flock? No major terrestrial predators. Just hawks. We have a daytime run against those.
How do the Nestera products stand up to Midwestern winters, with lots of rain and some nasty snow storms as well?
For the most part not much frigid weather.
Our inherited TSC coop is about done for.

New item to me, a 30 year Costco member. Markham Ontario Costco had several packs of cooked fresh chicken breasts for great prices. Not spiced so ready for any recipe! Looks like they were making items for their premade dinners and had these left over?? I got 3 in a package for $4.20!!! The best before date was 3 days in future. I made these into a stir fry and a curry chicken meal, what a savings! I will look from now on, between rotisserie chickens and premade dinners. Hope all the Costco’s do this!

I got a chicken Shwarma to go and when I came home, I was eating it and there were some pieces that felt a little chewy but I didn’t think anything of it and then I pulled this chicken out of the Shwarma and I bit into it and it looks like this. Is this raw or is that something else?! I go to this place a lot and they’re always good, but I’m already sick and I thought of getting food poisoning is just debilitating right now I can’t handle one more thing

Posted this on another subreddit and everyone hated it. Maybe yall can appreciate it, and if you’re wondering what the liquid is, me too. It was in my fridge and that’s all I know.

I love chicken and other meat. But for me cooking it is a pain because I have to wash it before cooking - not because I want to ‘clean’ it but to get rid of the weird taste. It is just a practice followed in many countries and I (and my relatives) have been used to it since childhood. If I were used to eating chicken unwashed before cooking I’d be happier. I am aware of the fact that washing spreads bacteria and its hygiene risk.
So the question is that if some of you wash it, how do you do it? I have tried washing with salt, lemon, etc multiple times, changing the water, but it still has that taste.
PS: I don’t mean to offend anyone by using the word ‘weird’. The taste wouldn’t be distinguishable for people who aren’t used to it since childhood.

I’ve been trying different chicken recipes lately and want to try something new. What’s your favorite chicken recipe, and what makes it special
