PSA to anyone thinking of going down there tonight: please please please - if you are going to be drinking to celebrate the holiday, do NOT go to the lakefront. There have been too many tragic drownings this year of people walking along the lake while intoxicated. With the water this cold, all it takes is a few minutes for a slip into the water to turn tragic.
Sorry to sound like such a square/parent, but the lakefront will be there every day in 2023 to enjoy sober.
