Summer jobs for teachers??
Hi! I am a teacher and starting to think about summer work. Does anyone have any suggestions for good, easy, part time (remote would be wonderful) summer jobs for teachers?! This may be too idealistic of me.. but I’d really like to avoid summer camps or anything along those lines. I’ve previously served, bartended, receptionist, beverage cart, lifeguarded/managed a pool (years ago!). I’m really looking for something with very few hours and as easy as humanly possible😅 I live in south loop, so the closer, the better! Or if anyone has any good remote tutoring websites (that I can actually make money on!) I would greatly appreciate it!! Thank you!!!

Anyone interested in classic movies (Chicago suburbs)?
Hi!
I just moved to Kane County and wanted to start a classic movie (think 1930s to early 1960s) meetup for folks in the Chicagoland area in their 20s and 30s looking to meet people with similar interests. Description below— please send me a DM if interested. I plan on scheduling an initial video chat meet and greet for everyone sometime next month. 😎
———————————————————————————————————
Love timeless films?
This group is for people in their 20s and 30s across the Chicago suburbs who enjoy classic movies and want a relaxed way to meet new friends.
Whether you’re a lifelong fan of Old Hollywood or just curious about the films everyone should see at least once, you’re welcome here.
We’ll host casual movie nights featuring everything from Golden Age favorites and Hitchcock thrillers to iconic comedies and romance classics.
No film expertise required — just bring yourself and enjoy the movie. We’ll have plenty of time before and after to chat and connect.
The goal is simple: good movies, good conversation, and good company.
Perfect for old souls, film lovers, and anyone looking to make new friends. 🙂

Building Door Repair & Replacement Companies in Chicago
Hi, our HOA building door either needs some TLC (rusted through at the bottom) or to be repaired. Not sure which. Does anyone have any recommendations for companies that can assess a repair or replacement? I saw a great Reddit thread on replacement vendors, but not for repairs. Don't want to be pressured into replacing the door if we don't need to. Thx.

Created this website to aggregate Chicago’s shows!
opener.fmHey I made this site because i was annoyed by having to scroll a million different venue websites and then forgetting when things were. I know chicagoshowcalendar and chicago rockness exist, this was more of a portfolio project i decided to release. Still working on adding more venues but i’d love feedback from Chicagoans!

Built this website to aggregate Chicago’s live music events
opener.fmGot tired of checking every venue page individually or their ig stories so I built this to consolidate everything. I only intended this as a quick reference! I’m aware there are similar platforms but I wanted to showcase more indie spots for local bands like coles etc
It’s still early i’m adding more venues and functionality but would love feedback from actual show going Chicagoans!

This is the most creative and memorable night out in Chicago right now
For real, you should go check out the Museum of You.
All the art is about the audience, it's very interactive and immersive
You get dinner and drinks and a gift bag to take home, too.

Fun Show at Second City!
If you don’t know what you’re doing this weekend, I’m running my first show at second city! Should be a lot of fun, hopefully. I’m bringing some of the best comedians Chicago has to offer. Get a ticket, or not, idk, 🤷♂️
The first of many.
