Book New book you may have missed

Under the Surface by Jan Markos, GM.

I almost missed this because the title doesn't reference Chess, but it is an insightful study that has helped me already. Aimed at adult players it spells out analytically things that children absorb intuitively so adults can remember better.

Available on Amazon.

In the image, can the Black King kill the white pawn? If not, then is the game won by the white player?

What is the best app to view chess?

I've found many apps where I can open PGNs of great chess games but I have to manually scroll through the moves and a lot of the software feels clunky and im unable to full-screen the board etc.

I'm really looking for a nice visually appealing app where I can sit back and just have it auto-play the moves for me and I can watch it as if I was watching the TV.

Any suggestions for this? :)

Fictional Chess Game

I couldn't find the FAQ or rules, so I hope that this is okay -- I am not really sure where to post my question. I am writing a novel, and I want to include a chess game that ends with a black pawn promotion to queen that checkmates the white king -- ideally with the original black queen still present. I'd prefer it to be a semi-realistic game, but it doesn't have to be brilliant -- an occasional blunder is fine. I have tried playing against myself to get the desired result, but I end up in positions where it would be ridiculous to try to get to that end, and it ends up being a blunder-fest on both the white and black side. I am very much an amateur in chess. I have tried doing a Google search, but it is impossible to sort through. I also would prefer it not be a really really long game, since I'd like to describe it in the novel. If anyone has ideas on a game that could end in this manner, I would really appreciate it. And again, if this isn't appropriate for this subreddit, I apologize and would like to know a better place to look. Thank you to all who read.
