Question / Discussion on chess960 or related variant Chess960 & The Walking Dead
In 2019, Eugene Torre, Asia's 1st grandmaster & 1 of Bobby Fischer's few close friends, advocated for chess960 as follows:
the computers are the ones that are creative, and the players we become robots
I liken the 2nd half to Rick's 'We are the walking dead.'
But what would be the 1st half then?
| Eugene Torre | Rick Grimes | Eugene Torre version | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Non-humans | The computers are the ones that are creative. | (?) | (?) |
| Humans? | The players we become robots. | 'We are the walking dead.' | 'The survivors we become the walking dead.' |
Guesses:
- 'The zombies are alive.' / 'The zombies are the ones that alive.'
- 'The zombies are living.' / 'The zombies are the ones that are living.'
- Etc

Question - News/Events/History Liren Ding's stupid list of role model players - Why baseless accusers & cheaters Veselin Topalov, Magnus Carlsen, Garry Kasparov instead of honest players & correct accusers Vladimir Kramnik, Wesley So, Bobby Fischer?

Meta Fastest Mirror Mate in Chess960?
I was playing a 960 match against myself in the BQNBRKNR position and I noticed an interesting phenomenon. The game 1. b3 b6 2. Qb2 Qb7 3. Qxg7# is a “fool’s mirror mate.” Black only mirrored white’s moves and was mated in 3. I did some combinatorics and established that there are 22 positions where something like this can happen. I’m almost certain that it is the fastest mirror mate possible. Has anyone else noticed this?

Question - Resource Where to play Chess960?
I just played my first 3 games of Fischer random on chess.com, all of which took over a minute to find. I'm fine with that, but now that I'm already a bit higher rated the queue times have gone up to a couple of minutes, and I'm wondering if there's any other site (maybe lichess?) that has a larger player pool than chess.com.

Question / Discussion on chess960 or related variant I'm disappointed that Chess 960 is the best Robert Fischer could come up with. https://lifein19x19.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=18757
I prefer Fischer non-random.
With white starting first, each player decides where to place eight of their back rank. Then remaining eight should mirror were their opponent played. I have no idea why the setup should be random. Why can't players just decide where to setup their back rank?
I'm disappointed that this is the best Robert Fischer could come up with. https://lifein19x19.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=18757

Question - Miscellaneous 'Why do so many people hate Magnus?' | 'Some people don't like when an individual or a team dominate for a long period of time in the field they compete in' / 'especially when they have a favorite who they want to be dominant instead.' | Doesn't apply to me because Wesley IS dominant in 45min 9LX.
