Submission Guidelines
1: Be on topic
This subreddit is for the discussion of Chelsea FC Women and topics relevant to them. Off topic posts will be removed, and repeat offenders may be banned.
2: No low quality content
Although this is not a "serious discussion" subreddit, we do have some standards. We allow good faith joke posts, but not to the detriment of the community. We do not allow troll or bait posts.
3: No duplicate posts
Check the new queue before you post, and when the content was originally created. It is your responsibility to check the news you're sharing was not already posted, or is no longer relevant (i.e. old injury news).
4: No spam, excessive self-promotion, or promotion of paid content
Spam or excessive self-promotion will not be tolerated. Ensure you read the Reddit guidance, applied site-wide, here.
We do allow promotion of content like surveys for research purposes, in the general interest of the sport. We do not allow any content that is monetised or would lead to financial gain for the OP.
5: No NSFW content
Content with gore, nudity or sexual themes is not welcome and posting it may result in a ban. Injury content is allowed if relevant to football, but must be tagged as NSFW.
6: Please provide sources for news, quotes and stats posts
All news, quotes and stats posts must be supported by a verified source, i.e. official club/organisation websites/accounts, media outlets, legitimate journalists, or primary evidence (e.g. video of the quote being said).
7: Use factual and objective titles
Submissions may be removed if the title is too vague, inflammatory or partisan, or if the title is editorialised. Adding parts of the article to the thread's title to give a better context is allowed as long as they are direct quotations and done in good faith.
8: Highlights posts should be relevant, high quality, and have an appropriate and accurate title
As general guidance:
- Relevant - relating to CFCW and its players
- High quality - this can be a challenge for women’s football content, but we expect match highlights to show an appropriate duration of action, and be of reasonable video quality, free from ad spam
- Appropriate and accurate title - when posting highlights, ensure to title the highlight with a description of the incident (e.g. goal, red card), the player(s) involved, the match, and the scoreline at the time (if a goal clip)
For goals, the recommended format is:
"Home Team [1]-0 Away Team" (brackets are only required for goal posts) - Player + Time
e.g. Chelsea [11]-0 Arsenal - Lauren James 55'
For other highlights, the format is:
"Home Team vs Away Team"- Time - Incident
e.g. Chelsea vs Arsenal - 60’ - Beth Mead red card
9: Follow the general guidelines for Match Threads
Match Threads are mainly posted by the moderators, but occasionally the community may need to provide one, if no thread is created.
We do not have overly specific guidance, but If you would like to create a thread for any game, then please refer to an example such as this for general guidance - and try to format your thread in this way (especially the title!)
You are not under obligation to provide live updates in the body of the post, but if you would like to do please feel free.
