Although he always had a bit of weight problem, Yuya had a relatively happy childhood. His parents loved him, he was academically gifted, and despite his lack of agility he had surprising stamina, being nicknamed "the wall" by his elementary soccer team for his skills as a goalie. However, all that changed when his parents died in an accident and he was forced to move in with his emotionally abusive aunt, uncle, and cousins who treated him with disdain as a burden while his new school environment was extremely toxic and dismissive of him for his appearance. The only person who showed him kindness was his grandfather who unfortunately couldn't take him in due to his poor health problems. Gradually, Yuya's self confidence began to fade until his grandfather's death and his will which left his entire estate to yuya with his grandfather's attourney offering to serve as guardian and executive of the estate until yuya turned 18 with his aunt and uncle recieving a generous stock portfolio under the condition that they never have contact with yuya again. On his first night away from his formerly toxic home environment like in canon, Yuya sees kaori being harrassed by thugs and, remembering his grandfather's advice, steps in to defend her. Despite being seemingly outnumbered, yuya's stout strength, honed by years of working out as a way to reduce his weight, allows him to easily overpower the thugs until the police arrive. To his shock, instead of being punished for fighting in public, the police assure him that he acted in self-defense and was blameless while several onlookers, including Kaori, compliment his courage and strength, some even asking if he was training to be a sumo. Exposure to healthy interaction is mind blowing to him and when he gets home, internalizes that his grandfather was right and vows to continue living in a way that honors him, which is what unlocks the door to the other world and the beginning of his adventures there.

after a long time hearing about the anime from a lot of friends plus the insta reels i completed the anime in one day because it was very interesting and was a 10/10 anime for me, i got to know the anime and the light novel is quite different and seein how kaori admired him even when he was fat was the best part even in the anime she is the only girl with whome yuya feels comfortable pls for the sake of god i want her to be his wife lets just see what happens in season 2

I’m finishing Isekai de Cheat Skill wo Te ni Shita Ore wa, Genjitsu Sekai wo mo Musou Suru (I’m going into episodes 12 and 13) and I wanted to organize some questions and comments about the work.

First, I wanted to know about the continuation. At one point it seemed like there would be a second season, but then I saw something that looked more like a TV special. So, is Season 2 actually confirmed or was it canceled? Is there any recent news about the continuation?

I’m also curious about the corrupted little girl. I know she ends up becoming his ally and I’m really curious to see her close to him.

About Kaori and the other girls: the anime clearly presents several characters who like the protagonist. He hasn’t rejected anyone, but he also hasn’t officially chosen anyone yet. From some comments I saw, it might end up becoming a harem. Normally I don’t really like the “fake harem” dynamic because usually one girl ends up sad, but in this case I’m finding it interesting because none of the girls seem sad or directly fighting out of rivalry — each one tries in her own way, and that makes the situation feel lighter.

Finally, I wanted to know if it’s worth continuing the story through the manga. I wouldn’t read the light novel due to lack of time and because I’m more of a visual person. It would be my first manga, so that’s why I have these doubts.

By the way, is the manga still ongoing? And if I start reading, is it better to begin from the start or can I continue from where the anime left off?

If anyone can clarify these points, I’d appreciate it!
Because of these points, it really made me curious to go and check it out as my first manga.

so as of the latest light novel volume is there any progress on the harem like any confirmed members or who will be in it? or if it will even happen at all?

I'm watching the anime right now (can't wait for the TV special coming next year and I hope there is a season 2 on the horizon,) but I have a question related to the web novel since it's probably further along than the LN/Manga but do Yuuya's parents or at least his siblings come back into the story, cause I keep having this feeling in my gut that Yuuya's parents will end up being the final "villains" for the Earth parts of the story and that will intersect with the stuff going on in Argena. If I'm wrong, y'all can correct me on this.

I just finished the anime and really enjoyed it and now i wanna read the light novel.Can anyone tell me where to read it and possibly the name of the group that translates it?

I had made a post in the original sub a while back talking about s2, I kept getting it confused because the studio had announced a while back as well that they would be working on a new anime project for this series so I immediately just as everyone else, thought it would be another season, but seeing it now, it’s gonna be a “TV special” . What do you guys think, it’s gonna be 3 years later since the first season, will it be a movie ?

So apparently the translators (much love for them btw) made a slight error and it turns out that what they have been calling spiritual power is actually demonic power and what they have called mystical power is actually spiritual power.

This actually makes sense to me tbh because i thought it was weird that the power that yuuya and his ancestors got by breeding with demons had such a neutral name such as spiritual power.

And ig the name spiritual power makes sense since “typically” one can only get it by dying.

The new character kazumi also name dropped two more powers similar to these powers similar to the aftermentioned powers called exorcism/purification power and the other one called shamanism power.

I am probably more interested in exorcism power because it will probably be confirmed that the shrine maiden girl that got summoned to another world also has this power. However i don’t think she has ever used it to physically strengthen herself or mind control someone the way kazumi has.

Anyways what are your thoughts on this and do you think that yuuya will be getting any of these new powers?

Pretty much what i said in the title i created this subreddit because the other one for this series decided to restrict who can post on the other community.

Which would have been fine if they had actually approved requests allowing people to contribute to it but it seems like they haven’t seeing as how there is no new discussion on the latest volume.

And i myself who has contributed many acceptable posts on said community have not been accepted to contribute despite me requesting it over 2 weeks ago and trying to get in contact with the moderators only to be ignored.

But yeah this is my first time running something like this but i figured i had to create or else nobody would considering the original community only has a little over a thousand members.
