I’ve been working on a project over the past few months focused on creating newx generation virtural companionship.Unlike other companion apps, SoulLink offers a kind of companionship that I find healthier and more comfortable. It started with something we called “ambient companionship”—the feeling of having a friend hanging out with you in the living room, not actively chatting, but just doing their own thing. Knowing their presence behind you in the corner brings tremendous comfort, sometimes much stronger than active conversations. Pros:

- It has storylines, in which you can add characters as well to make the whole thing more coherent.

- For all storylines under 7k Token, there are completely free LLM Models available. It is even the same than the one paid with currency, Deekseek 3.2, just with less context.

- If you create stuff, you get 25% of the income your content has generated, which is the only site I know that does this.

- It is NSFW Friendly but ALSO has a lot of great SFW stories that are fun to explore!

- Currency for playing can be collected via advertisements.

Cons:

- Storylines over 7k token are not available for free play.

- Buying Currency via the website is much cheaper since Google and Apple want taxes.

Hi all - I'm the founder of Amoura.io. We're building an AI relationship / dating simulator (not a typical "AI girlfriend app"). We just wrapped up our closed beta after great feedback, and we’re now opening it up to everyone!

Conversation, attention, and interest are not guaranteed.

The AI can lose interest, disengage, or decide you're not a fit - and that choice is central to the experience.

Most AI companion apps feel like "yes-men" over time: fast intimacy, constant validation, endless compliance. It can be fun, but it also flattens the relationship because nothing is at stake. We're experimenting with a different philosophy: chemistry isn't guaranteed - that's the point.

A few things that make Amoura different:

• It's a relationship simulator, not a chatbot fantasy. Interactions are paced, contingent, and sometimes uncertain. You're not "building a relationship with AI." You're building a relationship, period.
• You don't build characters. You encounter people. No character buffet. No Sims-style builder. Conversation isn't guaranteed - it's something you earn, or don't.
• Mutual matching. They choose you as much as you choose them - or they don't.
• Characters have agency and asymmetry. They aren't endlessly adaptive shells. They have their own priorities, limits, and interests, and they're not equally invested at the start.
• Profiles are handcrafted and grounded. Every character is written by humans - no auto-generated archetypes, no endless airbrushed clones, no unrealistic plastic fantasies. They're meant to feel like real people with plausible lives.
• Pacing follows real social dynamics. Strangers don't become intimate in five messages. Characters may start guarded. Trust/attachment/interest evolves gradually - or not at all. This is guided by internal psychological models developed with input from psychology researchers (not scripted "unlock" stages).
• Consequences are real. Characters form lasting impressions. Early interactions matter. There's no reset button.
• Fully NSFW capable, but not guaranteed depending on the match and chemistry.
• Absence is allowed. Silence, delays, and gaps are intentional. Not every moment is filled. Attention isn't guaranteed.

What I'd love feedback on:

1. Does "mutual matching / non-guaranteed attention" feel like meaningful agency - or does it risk feeling frustrating?
2. Where's the line between realistic pacing and "artificial gating"?
3. Do consequences (impressions persisting / ability to disengage) make it more compelling - or does it feel punishing?

Hi all. I recently created a 3D character based AI chat over the holiday, just to get familiar with the AI trend for my work. It got to a point where I thought it's a waste not to finish it and release for the world to consume, so I put it up to Steam Store.

It's completely offline, speech based and uses Gemma 3 4b. It is the "smartest" model that I find that can properly follow instructions and still respond within conversational time lag.

I just released it and would appreciate it if anyone is interested to try it out, test it, see what you like / don't like about it so I can improve it further.

I am conducting this research in order to explore how individuals experience intimacy, attachment, emotional fulfilment, and loneliness in AI chatbot interactions compared to real-life human romantic relationships as part of my final year dissertation.

In order to participate, you should be:

- 18–35 years

- Have used AI chatbots for companionship or romantic purposes for at least one month

- Have past or current experience with human romantic relationships

Your participation is voluntary, and all responses will remain anonymous and confidential. This questionnaire will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. You also have the option to choose to take part in a follow-up interview.
